Digimon World -Next Order- |Import OT| Welcome Back to Digimon World

I actually haven't played a DMW1 styled game before (though I've played Monster Rancher... whatever happened to that series?) hoping to see a good localization for this.

I do hope this game's (possible) localization has a bit more polish than Cyber Sleuth's though, ahaha.

If CS' sales were that good then it probably will get a better more polished loc. As they will have more faith in it.

Really hope this comes over to the west, I played the original Digimon World so much as a kid.

I'm having tons of fun with Cyber Sleuth but it just isn't the same. =[

Just used my code that came with the Op theme single:

究極進化アイテム(黒騎)

※「黒騎核」は、使う対象が完全体の時に使う必要があります。
※「黒騎核」は、ゲーム中でも獲得することができます。

It's an Ultimate Evolution item, Black-something?

I bought this without knowing that it had any bonuses for Next Order so it's a nice surprise even if I doubt I'll care much for whoever it allows me to digivolve into

It's for Alphamon. They showed the item off during the live stream that she was on a couple of weeks back.

Noooo, you can't get the VA'd Agumon and Gabumon again after they die? At all?

Guess I'll save them until I can get a lot of life extending items.

Hackmon will be one of the first Digimon I go for. So glad they showed a video on how to get him through Tokomon already.

There's two other DLC beside Meicoomon.

http://digimonworld-neo.bn-ent.net/dlc/dlc.php

Ones available until 4/17 the other until 6/17

Fugamon spotted as an enemy.

It's nice to see some of these recolors showing up.

Edit: Gaogamon's possible evolutions in Next Order are MachGaogamon, WereGarurumon and GrappuLeomon.

its all good.. AS LONG AS GREYMON DOESNT KILL THE GAME AGAIN... christ talk about the worst game breaking issue of digimon world 1... its that guy if your digimon died and you just start with a baby.

I'll admit, I'll be sorely disappointed if there wasn't a callback to this most infamous event of the digimon games.

How is the language barrier with this game? I previously imported Youkai Watch and was able to complete the entire game with knowing a single but of Japanese. Could I have the same type of experience with Next Order?

Do you have any experience with Digimon World, Re:Digitize or Decode? I think understanding the gameplay without any prior experience or japanese knowledge can prove to be a bit hard.

To recruit Digimon into town you often have to complete a side quest and recruiting Digimon is a huge part with these kind of games. Without understanding any bit of japanese it would be hard to understand what exactly they want as there is no visual indicator (at least I don't think there is). I assume sooner or later someone will make a guide how to recruit every Digimon, so you could play it with a guide I guess.

I've played re:coded on PSP, I was able to figure most things out. If a guide is ever made, I will seriously consider importing this game

Then you should be fine gameplay-wise.
And I'm sure people will make a recruitment guide because even if you understand it, sometimes the things you have to do are a bit vague lol. But there's definitely a chance that Bandai Namco will release the game in the west, so if you can wait there's that.
I mean, after Cyber Sleuth they must realise that there are enough Digimon fans in the west who want to support the series. Also Bandai Namco seems to localize nearly everything nowadays, so I don't see a reason to skip it.
My guess would be that they'll release it around February/March 2017, similar to Cyber Sleuth.

Same guy from last night is streaming again

At the restaurant, highlighting a menu option will now show you the stat gains it gives, as well as how much it fills up the Digimon. That's pretty cool.

I'm continuing to F5 my tracking information, but it isn't getting here any faster.

so i have this on in the background, and every time i look and he's in a battle (which isn't often), he seems to make super short work of stuff

is he op or are most fights just that trivial?

I was originally planning on importing this, but I've been busy and now have a backlog to get through. -.-

Someone better take a lot of screenshots!

CS sold ~64,000 on physical PS4 in America. Bamco wanted all of the West to match Japanese sales (~120,000 in 10 weeks) to consider future localization.

Unless Vita and the rest of the West sales are weak/non-existent, it's looking good.

CS got a physical release in Germany and it was impossible to buy it for weeks because it was sold out everywhere (so I had to buy it on PSN :( ), so I'm guessing we're at least at 100,000 in the West only counting the physical sales :)

more than a callback, if we call having the same character come back.

Awww snap, he's back. Will definitely check this game out if it gets ported and hopefully that is the Digimon world 1 protagonist.

Can't wait until this is localised. I loved the original World game, and I'm so enjoying Cyber Sleuth right now.

It seems that there are a few bugs and glitches. Someone on Twitter says that there is an error message when you use an autopilot in the Desert area (https://twitter.com/SAMEX_1u2y/status/710646672309628928). Another one's Digimon turned into a white box (https://twitter.com/rktda/status/710547913034739712), but I assume leaving the area fixes that. This game is a true sequel to the original Digimon World! (lol)
EDIT: So people unfamilliar with the original Digimon World can get some context, the original Digimon World had maaaaany bugs and glitches, at least the US and PAL versions did. In the PAL version (which I played) there is a bug that prevents you from playing through 1/4 of the game and reaching some areas. They were optional, so finishing the game was still possible but not reaching a 100%. The only way to play through that section of the game is to finish the game, enter the optional dungeon that opens after completion, then opening your Playstation disk drive at the exact moment. That would allow you to stop a specific cutscene from playing and running through an area that was previously inaccessible and continue playing through that specific section of the game and unlock the remaining areas. Nowadays there is a patch so it isn't even a problem anymore for people playing through the PAL version, but back in the day the trick with the disk drive was a huge revelation to me lol.
So I find it quite funny that the "true sequel" to Digimon World also has some problems, even though they appear to be mostly minor things in Next Order.

But still, it looks line fun, hopefully my game will arrive soon.

Part of me really doesn't want to have to wait. I imported Youkai Watch only 3 months before the English version released. I may just end up importing it, I want to play the game badly!

My copy is in the US at last. It's starting to feel close.

He seems to have been grinding in the gym a lot, so I'm going to say really OP.

Reading some Japanese impressions it seems the frame rate drops quite a bit during certain scenes with lots of stuff happening and really big digimon blocking the camera in the city.

Also saw a complaint about how it can be hard to progress sometimes since both your digimon die at different times, making you spend time trying to train up a baby digimon to level up which ends up with your other digimon that was high level dying and needing to retain it while your other one is already leveled up.

I was never a fan of the taking two digimon at once idea. Hope they patch in an option to just let me take one.

Well, Digimon World 1 is among my games of all time.
Is there any way to play this in english? is there a asia version?

Wait til it gets localized if you want it in English. There isn't an asia version AFAIK.

Should be localized by early next year based on CS but we'll see.

First print is already sold out so I think I'm gonna wait for the localization. Still have enough import games to play anyway.

Let's hope Bandai Namco announces it soon to keep that Digimon hype going. After Cyber Sleuth, they can't NOT localize this, right? Didn't they promise that if CS sold just as many copies in the West as in Japan, they would continue localizing games?

I doubt they'll patch something that has been advertised as a key feature. (But here's hoping)
The game in general sounds like a stinker in comparison to Re:Digitize, a shame.

This seems like crazy hyperbole for something that just came out and few people have even had a chance to play yet.

Interested in this game, even if I dont plan on buying import for now. Im unsure if 2 partners is that good idea, but we’ll see. Framerate does look iffy on battles.

…Naturally I wanna see what kind of roster this game will have, but all I could find was japanese wiki that only has rookies list for now. Althought it would be just easier to compare changes to Cyber Sleuths roster. So unless Im looking at bad info, rookies are:

Added
+shoutmon
+gumdramon
+psychemon
+tsukaimon
+snowgumon
+clearagumon
+toyagumon black
+snowgoburimon
+auraumon
+shamamon

Didnt made from Cyber Sleuth
-armadimon
-impmon
-elecmon
-otamamon
-gazimon
-kudamon
-syakomon
-falcomon
-betamon
-hawkmon
-lalamon
-dorumon

I dont know how to feel about that.

Geez, if that's real, it's a shame. Losing Impmon, DORUmon, Kudamon, Lalamon, Falcomon and Gazimon sucks. Hopefully we get some of them as DLC later.

Edit: But we know that Alphamon is in, so DORUmon's absence is really bizarre if true.

Yeah, the amount of Digimon was definitely the part that worried me the most. It's especially sad to see that most added rookies are just recolors. Only Shoutmon and Gumdramon are really new and they are technically not even rookies but don't have any level in the lore, I think.
I guess the budget and time given to the developers was overall less than Cyber Sleuth got.

Heres the japanese wiki site:

http://gametter.com/digimon-nextorder/index.html

Using google translate I was able to read rough translation. Is this trustable source?

I don't know either, but I don't see a reason for them to lie about it. There is a chance that the list is still incomplete but I kinda doubt it, especially since we haven't seen Impmon, Betamon, Dorumon and so on in any screens or videos.
EDIT: There is Elecmon in the game, but maybe it's just an enemy/NPC?

Interestingly, that lists Kuramon to Tsumemon for Baby I and Baby II, which we didn't see in the egg select screen. I wonder if you unlock it later. It's also nice to see the recolors as obtainable partners in their own right, rather than just being enemies.

Ah yes, Baby levels. It appears Baby 2 Digimons that didnt made from Cyber Sleuth are Yokomon, Wanyamon and Pagumon. Strangely Biyomons baby forms are only Adventure babies that didnt make it. Otherwise it was replaced with known Guilmon's, Lopmon's and Terriermon's baby forms.

I also saw video yesterday, which apparently confirmed Red Veedramon. Man, I know people will be disappointed by these recolors. :/

And spoilers for potential endgame!:
It seems that one of the last enemies might be another classic making comeback, Armageddomon! Notable since he hasnt been in Redigitize games or Cyber Sleuth.

Ooh! I can’t wait. Haven’t even started Cyber Sleuth yet. It’s so strange that Vita gets supported with these games that I don’t expect people to keep making.

Nice OT, by the way!

Huh, here is a different list: http://re-digitize.game-cmr.com/digimonworld/data/dejimondb/zukan.html

I know the URL says Redigitize, but it's for Next Order as it also mentions Mastemon and others. According to the list all the Cyber Sleuth rookies are also in Next Order.
Who knows which one is right xD

Err I think that IS Cyber Sleuth’s list. It even mentions same requirement numbers as in Cyber Sleuth and even references SP, which would be MP in World games.

Either way, I Mastemon is confirmed for Next Order.

Seems that way, but I got to it from the Next Order page and it does mention the Next Order locations on the sidebar. So they just copy and pasted it, lol?
EDIT: Damn it, yes, they took it from Cyber Sleuth. They even say so at the top of the page, so it's by no means an accurate list. Ignore it.
