That truly rock solid 60fps is fantastic on both consoles, big fan of 4A's commitment to that, especially on the Xbox One.
I'm at the point where I am totally fine with 900p games going forward so long as it means solid frame rates. No way in hell would I sacrifice that locked 60fps for a small boost in resolution for this game, 4A made the right call.
Did you forget about the 300+ extra dollars you'll be paying to use the Internet on your console already? Come on now.
Let's not get into these silly cyclical arguments again, because then we will devolve into the same silly semantics.
Find me a $399 PC that can perform like the PS4 and then we can ibclude, otherwise PC has no place in this comparison
We need a thread stating nobody will pay more than $25 for remasters, after what this developer accomplished and offer such a compelling price
Meh, already played both versions on PC so not much of a change to warrant a purchase.
Selectively choosing facts to draw a negative conclusion. Destiny went from 900p to 1080p from the June SDK improvements.
Yet Metro comes along and they mention the SDK allowed them to go from 900p to 912p and the poster infers negativity. The poster has no idea if other changed occurred as well, but weren't mentioned, and the article referenced in the OP suggests as much.

I don't know why this Destiny talk here but I think people needs to remember Destiny is a 30fps game... I'm sure Metro Redux should run at 1080 if 30fps.You are doing the same thing only to draw a positive conclusion. You are selectively stating that ONLY the SDK allowed Destiny to go to 900p to 1080p when we know MS engineers were sent onsite to aid. It could have been a combination of factors that allowed Destiny to hit 1080p IQ not exempted.
This game however looks like a solid port at a proper day one price.

Huh, I though none square pixels died with CRT TVs!!while Xbox One currently stands at a curious 912p native resolution - that would be something in the region of 1620x912 (assuming square pixels).

ps4 = 400$, psn = 50$ a year so that's 350$
With 750$ I can find you a pc that shits on a ps4, you get your games cheaper AND you get a better gaming experience.
That is the issue in your post "$750"... he asked a a machine at the same price on PS4 that will run this game at rock solid 1080p@60fps... you can add Plus if you wish.ps4 = 400$, psn = 50$ a year so that's 350$

Sounds like an incredible remaster. 4A Games are wizards. This is one of those games I feel good about buying day one to support those guys, especially knowing the difficulties they've had to overcome during development:

I hope so, $60 for a one game remaster is bs... Also we don't get cheaper prices for digital gamesJust vote with your wallet. The price will come down eventually.

It's not even 'small' tho..Agreed. The "one input" of xb1 means more to me than a small resolution boost that I honestly wouldn't be able to tell unless maybe seeing the game on both systems side by side, maybe...
Well if you want compare apple to apple you have to consider the 10-20$ minimum per game you'll pay more on a console and the 50$ a year just to play online. Upfront cost is higher but long therm is actually cheaper and you get a better gaming experience.

I like cut scenes.

900p in BF4 is clearly softer and less detailed than native 1080p in comparison to other games on PS4. I can't get mad at others for not caring, but I am annoyed by the thought that my Xbox brethren are looking the other way on these sorts of matters. As an Xbox One owner myself, I won't pick up a game that perform better on the PS4, so right now it's dedicated to the platform exclusives, which are great of course.
To each their own but I honestly would have no idea of the resolution if someone didn't tell me. As for bf4 on ps4 at 900p, is it possible Microsoft has a better scaler builtin?
I don't know about others games but in BF4 case I found the IQ too bad when I played on PS4 to the point I decided to avoid it (no buy).To each their own but I honestly would have no idea of the resolution if someone didn't tell me. Aren't you the guy who was spitting pips because Driveclub had some jaggies?
It's real hard to take your 'Just concentrate on the funs!' seriously.
My copy should be arriving soon! Looks good.
And don't forget to add the ~90 games over that seven years that you'll get to play at no extra charge with Plus.
And Plus give you a lot of free game per year.
There are advantages and disadvantages in both sides... you need to constant upgrade your PC too... most people spend more money per year in gaming PC that most users will spend in a console life.
I don't think any console user will be jealous about PC if their games run at rock solid 1080p@60fps in a $400 machine.
no in fact the xbox one scaler makes the picture worse
Like I said there are advantages and disadvantages... no one is superior to other.Enjoy the "rock solid" (lol) 60 frames on all your games. I'll be spending 1200 per year upgrading my GPU (LOL what in the flying fuck... I haven't upgraded most of my PCs since early 2012 and they still outperform these consoles handily).
Perhaps we should follow what digital foundry said instead of the same tired (and wrong) arguments:
If you want the premier visual experience, it is still PC. Even in this case. If you don't mind some downgrades, then both of these versions will provide you with a decent experience for these titles.
How many times has this kind of increase happened, ever?
Let's not draw comparisons to the open market ownership (you know, humble, digital store seasonal sales, competition) to closed market incentivization.
