DirectX 12 adds a 20% gpu boost to the PC version of Fable

Looks like Windows Central is still reporting the 20% GPU increase:

  • Microsoft doesn't count the sales in the Windows 8 store as a success (as in sales volume was lower than they wanted)
  • Cross platform gaming is going to include cross-buy as well. Buy from one device, download and play on another device
  • Developers will submit their apps and games into one store. This store includes Xbox One as well
  • Pinball FX2 is coming to Windows 10 (free if already bought on Xbox One)
  • Xbox Live SDK Preview is going live today
  • DirectX 12 adds a 20% GPU boost to the Xbox One
  • A Universal Development center will allow devs to develop games from one application
  • Xbox will bring games to Hololens
  • HoloLens APK should be available around the time of BUILD
  • Implementing crossplay is "super simple and easy"
  • ID@Xbox is now helping devs for Windows 10, including Phones
  • Porting Shovel Knight to Xbox One and implementing cross play only took 1 day for the devs of the Yacht Club
  • Game 4 from Behemoth is coming to Windows 10, as well as Swordy, This War of Mine, Wasteland 2, Cuphead, Shovel Knight
  • Battletoads are coming to Shovel Knight
  • A wireless adapter for Xbox One controllers to work with Windows 10 will be coming out later this year

  • Gigantic from Motiga is a shooter, moba, rpg mash up coming later this year to Windows 10 and Xbox One
  • Phil Spencer is teasing that most first party games will be available for both platforms

Yikes.

Umm, yeah you were. You tried to undermine my point by calling out my member status. It's basically a stone's throw from being a full-on ad hominem attack, but whatever, I'll just mind my place, I guess.

Says the guy who told me I'm pissy because all the fucking thread was so clear that it was not a 20% GPU boost but still some people believed in that. Keep the pissy stuff for you next time maybe..

I wasn't joking.

I was deadly serious, because you see...I AM MISTERXMEDIA.

I think that 20% are related to older cards.

Xbox One has some interesting hardware particularity like Move Engines and all that stuff from VGleaks.

That might help Xbox One to increase some too.

Edit: Now I see the recap. 20% boost for Xbox one GPU confirmed.

But, what about CPU?

All of you who believed it in the first place are in la-la land. And you made this a great thread, thanks.
Is it that much of a stretch to believe you can find significant gains via API optimizations?

I dunno. Doesn't seem like too crazy an idea, especially considering how much has changed for the Xbox from its reveal to launch and up to now.

And it just would've been awesome if true.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when they realize their error and the shit stir it caused, lol!

Not 20%, whatever that may mean.

It'll have some improvement, and in theory DirectX 12 should end the resolution differences between Xbone and PS4 multiplatform games.

Admittedly, that was happening anyway, but still.

Why would DX12 end the resolution difference? Does it suddenly increase the amount of eSRAM or decrease the framebuffer of a 1080p image?

Here's how it'll go:

"Good job on the misprint, we just made a bajillion dollars in ad revenue from the nerds at NeoGAF!"

I found this thing funny when I thought it was PR spin.

Now that I know this a case of shit journalizm, I find that it is just straight up sad. Also, shame on those other sites for not double checking.

I think the problem is not the amount. It's how the developer use it.

And in general, the Xbox One processor has a total ok 47 MB of ESRAM.

Yes it is a stretch. Sure you can find efficiencies and optimizations, but that isn't going to raise the ceiling in regards to maximum theoretical performance.

(i.e. it's not going to make your 1.31 teraflop part a 1.84 teraflop part, you will just get better use of that 1.31 teraflops. In certain cases where you only achieved an 80% efficiency you may see an efficiency of 96% *note that is just a bullshit example*)

ITS BRILLIANT!
Classic Microsoft FUD! Good job. Not as good as "Tomb Raider Xbox One Exclusive!" though
It wasn't MS, it was a live blogger misquoting Spencer.

Damn it. I read the first couple of pages and accidentally skipped to the last page and completely spoiled the show for myself.
