Amazing :p

Hahah Omg am dying from the crazy cave

Nothing exciting
only 20% boost clearly shuts us down.
Again.
wait for Insider comments to wtf Phil said that

Well, if its only 20% bust and most 1st party games also heading to PC along with Xbox live then who will buy Xbox One?
There should be a carrot.

Parasite said - resolution gate will be over on March 3. 900p + 20% = 1080p :) Phil's accurate trolling :)
Parasite said hardware talk will start with Build
for sure we will get more info from Insiders on this 20% and why not now.

Classic Microsoft FUD! Good job. Not as good as "Tomb Raider Xbox One Exclusive!" though

Ehhh it really wasn't though just a shitty website doing what they do.

To be fair, for the first half-dozen pages, I'm just assuming everyone was in total troll mode.

I don't think anyone thought a 20% boost was going to be a market changer. (Especially when MisterXMedia was claiming a 200% boost)

I don't think they would have anything else now to push the XOne with it except few sku here and there but nothing major after DX12

It was a joke post. See, it's pretty impressive propaganda if you think about it. Brand A comes out and declares a subtle improvement to their product. Opposition to Brand A comes out and pretends to post hyperbole masked as support for Brand A in order to subvert any legitimate and measured gains made by the official announcement or information meant to improve product. Opposition to Brand A can now turn around and say they were just joking in order to deflect criticism to their passive-aggressive propagandizing when confronted about their subtle but subversive critiquing.

Unless you're joking too, which then makes this all just a big-ass "jokeception".

If someone at MS read this thread they know their console was released way too weak for this gen. Next console MS makes will be powerful and I expect it out in 4 more years. It says a lot when people are going bonkers for a supposed 20% improvement in graphical capabilities.

To be fair, a 20% improvement would be a pretty impressive achievement if true.

I'm just wondering if people really thought that software would magically make the hardware difference of the PS4 disappear

Don't count on it. If this actually came true, I'd guarantee you'd see some goal-post moving. Honestly, I don't think MS is coming out with another Xbox. If they did, it'd probably be radically different than what we see as consoles today. If it's a more traditional endeavor, then the only unlikely scenario I see of an uncompromising Xbox being released would be if Phil Spencer and MS no longer go by the rules of business but instead be motivated by spite.

No.

I'm going to pretend against my better judgement that this isn't a troll post.

All they're saying is that the new API is more efficient such that (probably in ideal situations) it's 20% faster at rendering the same frames as the old API.

It's literally impossible for the Xbone to be as fast as the PS4. The PS4's hardware is simply more powerful.

It's also likely that Sony make around a similar level of API improvements over the same amount of time. They just don't have a new API to sell so they're not on stage talking about it.

I'm not at all an expert on these things. I see people saying 20 percent more efficient vs 20 percent more "powerful". What's the distinction?

Also i don't remember Sony really ever doing that kind of stuff with the PS3 last gen. If they did they never really said anything about it. So I think it's entirely possible that they don't really do any kind of major API improvement for the PS4 on the scale of what MS is doing with DX12.
