Doesn't sound like it from this video.Lots of hope but nothing definitive...

From what they showed DX12 doesn't have anything that isn't already hardware supported on GCN. The impact on XBox One games will just be related to an API that more closely reflects the way the hardware works.

For the not so tech savvy(that would be me), does this mean that current Nvidia GPUs will recieve a performance boost for all games that support DX12 ?

Not really liking the sound of this, but I guess they have no choice. Windows 7 is extremely prevalent.

Doesn't matter, it won't get it.

XP was big when 10 and 11 came out, didn't come to it. Even DX 11.1 hasn't fully come to W7, nor will it. It only got some of the 11.1 features, the full version is only for W8.

DX12 as any close to metal API will provide a more efficient way of using CPU. Any improvements to GPU usage are likely to be very small. So if your CPU isn't fast you're likely to see some noticeable improvements in DX12 games. If you're running some top of the line i7 I wouldn't count on getting out of DX12 more than +5% on average.

You're ignoring the facts that the hardware has to be compliant and DX12 is probably a year or so out. I would imagine full support will come with the Nvidia GTX800 series and AMD R? 3xx Series.

Fun fact, the Witcher guys called the Xbox a DX11 console and actually easier to develop than the PS4. Their main problem was that the CPU's of both consoles sucked, which was kind of a problem for them and it made them have to optimize a lot haha.

And all cards that support DX11 should support DX12 according to the build conference thing.

Holiday 2015... I wonder if Intel has any vested interest in DX12, might help give the illusion of Skylake or Cannonlake being more monstrous than it is.

NV already said that all Keplers are compliant. Although I'm sure that Maxwell will have more features and some of them might even be exposed in DX12.
You're ignoring the fact that DX12 is mostly a S/W thing.

CD Project RED are a PC first developer who have never shipped a game on a PlayStation platform before, so them being more comfortable in the DX-based environment of the Xbox One is not surprising.
