DirectX 12 GDC 2014 presentation: Low-Level Access, DX11 GPUs, Holiday 2015

Just as I thought. The Xbox One will be great to PC gamers. Microsoft basically took things they learned from optimizing the Xbox One and are applying some of that optimization to DX12.

I'm not worried about Core i3s. It's a welcome improvement, and it'll help tremendously, but I'm just saying it's not a magical wonderland of 50% better graphics.
 
So I guess I'll be waiting to see how Windows 9 turns out then. Considering half the PC games I get still seem built around DX9 I'm not too worried about DX12 only stuff coming for a long time. The market just won't be there unless Windows 9 is the huge hit that 8 was not.

Mister x Insider is now saying wait till E3 for every x1 game to be 1080P60 (just have to wait a few months more)...cant wait for their bubble to pop...so funny

the bubble is never going to pop as long as his cult members are idiots.

When E3 comes around, right before the conference, like just before every other conference where MS is suppose to drop the bomb to make "sony ponies" cry and destroy neogaf, the "insider" says wait till the next event.

So, when E3 rolls around, it's going to be either wait for Games Con or HotChips 2014 or some shit.
 
At the same time, though, shouldn't this also benefit multicore CPUs? I thought they specifically said this.

Yeah, because even if your game was heavily threaded, some of tasks performed by directx were mainly single threaded, and not it will automatically spam between cores.

There's still a dwindling number of people who swear that when MS finish their tiled resources they'll load 6GB of textures into the eSRAM and blow the PS4 away. I can only see the impending release of D3D12 making that worse.

Insider: Wait till amd have there discussion about there new gpu architecture later today...
albert is wrong.. there not dual staked gpus.. there is a dx core app and dx12 gpu with dual logic. Ms internal "term" layered hardware soc.

Nda ... people can make a flame war about this.. mark this blog .. for build 2014 and e3 2014.. I ant going anywhere ill stick by this blog and this information. Mrx you know :)

If it will get more performance out of less hardware, I'm all for it. I'm never on the high end so squeezing performance out of lower end parts always appeals to me.
 
Maybe we will get some more info at BUILD. April 2 - 4. Have they made the schedule for sessions for that yet? I can't find it anywhere.
 
Well for now we have been given all we can from GDC about Dx12 this tweet is of course going to be talked about after all the bashing the guy has done of Gaf
