Disney has finally released its plans to expand their streaming platform Disney+ to include more mature content with the arrival of a whole new section aimed at adults dubbed ‘Star’.

It will be used to handle much of the key 20th Century Fox library and other non family-focused fare from “Logan” to “Kingsman” to “Atlanta”

This section goes online on February 23rd 2021 and will be available to international audiences only (U.S. subscribers have Hulu). At the same time the Disney+ price will go up by two pounds in the UK and two Euros in Europe along with similar adjustments in other markets.

One difference from Hulu is that it will not include aggregated third-party content and will instead focus on shows that Disney owns.

In addition, Star+ will launch in June 2021 as a separate streaming platform in Latin America offering general entertainment TV shows, movies, local originals and live sports.

I’ll probably still use it for Simpsons 24/7, but still pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure that regular Disney + already has the Simpsons. I'd check the episodes compared to the DVD releases, though. I noticed that Disney + also likes to censor small bits from movies and T.V. shows. Just watched "Remember the Titans" last weekend and noticed a scene missing where an opposing coach passes Denzel Washington's character a banana and later Denzel passes it back to the same guy after the Titans beat his team and makes a good joke on the racist coach. The Disney + version only shows Denzel returning the banana at the end of the game. The first part was just missing. I keep thinking that even with an adult service like Star; they'll still do the same thing.

Disney+ does have Simpsons, at least in the US. The only thing censored is it is missing the Michael Jackson episode. For pre-16:9 episodes you can pick original 4:3 version or cropped 16:9 version.
