Disney is happy with the money they get form EA so wont change thier bussiness model no matter SW fans are upset.

Disney can be happy.

But as a Star Wars fan, I am not happy. Not with their output nor their direction.

EA is the worst to give it to because a game being profitable by others standards aren’t enough. They feel a game needs to consume their consumers of both their money and time.

Maybe they shouldn't have shut down LucasArts, a studio that was good at making games.

The fuck? Disney games made for the Genesis and Super Nintendo were excellent games.

But Disney didnt make them. They licenced the IP's to Capcom and the like back in the 90's

This is the only position that makes sense as a business. Why would Disney continue to invest in development and self-publishing if they can license the IP's and just receive the money? Even with EA, they lost 0 money unless you count the cost of opportunity which is both hard to estimate and would imply that they have a better plan. The SW brand had 0 damage from EA's blunders, even the mainstream media named EA as responsible, not Disney nor the brand itself. They are OK.

I applaud the self-awareness and their objectivity.

They made good money with Spider-Man and they will probably to continue with a similar strategy in the future, making loads of money and participating in the creation of really cool games.
