Am I crazy or did they say this would "never" happen with Black Widow?
I hate this crap about the extra fee. haven't paid it for a movie before but I will probably buy this one. I'm part of the problem I know but this looks super fun.
Can you explain what you hate about it? You are getting to see a day 1 AAA blockbuster release from home. If you don’t want to pay the admission fee you can just wait like you would a normal movie for it to eventually arrive for free streaming.
It is like triple price for anyone single. 50% price hike for a couple where I live. I think tickets are usually around $10 here normally, and you get the experience of the giant screen and are supporting the local economy in your town a bit.It costs more than $30 for my wife and I to see a movie in a (good) theater opening weekend. A family of 4 is even more than that.

Wait a day longer and you can get it for free if you know where to look. It's all just stupidExactly, so I'm very confused why anyone is upset about a paid thing?
Well for one, I love be going to the theatre. I want that to keep going afterwards. The next is that I don't like the idea of upsells in a streaming service. Shang-Chi shifts to September 3rd.
Eternals remains on November 5, and Spider-Man: No Way Home stays on December 17th
How is? Fight by fight?Wait until you find out how UFC does their PPVs now.

Is it really that great of a deal when you consider that with an HBO Max sub you can watch 4 hours of zaddy kino for no extra fee?I know I’m rationalizing but $29 for unlimited views is a great deal compared to the theater where that doesn’t even cover the cost of two imax tickets and popcorn for one show.

Seriously? That is pretty dodgey$5 a month for ESPN+ and then the normal $60 PPV fee.
If you are like most families chances are you are probably spending money on concessions and gas as well as on dinner after the movie. All of that money was going to different people. Theater people get a cut, restaurant gets a cut, everyone the restaurant employs like the servers and dishwashers get a cut, etc. You buying a movie ticket was a chain event that fed money into the economy in a variety of ways.It costs more than $30 for my wife and I to see a movie in a (good) theater opening weekend. C'mon Manabyte, you were so positive this was going to be a Disney+ dual release. You going to admit you were wrong yet?
lol
*EDIT*
OH EM GEE
I misread the shit, sorry mate.
It's just an option.. if the price is unfair, don't buy it?It is like triple price for anyone single. 50% price hike for a couple where I live. I don't like their pricing model either. Pay more for less, and Disney gets it all with less cost sharing. Seems unfair to me.

I honestly never quite understood it as a social thing, since you sit in a dark room and aren't supposed to talk for 2 hours lolWhen people speculate stuff like this will end Theatres I just laugh.
Going to the cinema will be around for a long long time. It's a social event. It's not replaceable by sitting at home.
Hell in Ireland people sometimes go just for the food. Over the last year me am my mates have went to the cinema atleast 5 or 6 times and that's with there being lock downs for months at a time.
Streaming movies will have a place for sure but it won't kill cinema.

Where I'm at, every movie theater in 100 mile radius of where I live is now shut down. There were a few that stayed open for a few months after the pandemic hit, doing private (literally "private" in every sense of the word as only one person at a time was allowed in the theater legally) showings on weekends only. Now, everything is shuttered and the buildings are all for sale. "At home" theater experiences didn't kill movie theaters, stay at home orders and government regulated crowd sizes did. Even among everyone I know that's a huge movie fan - nobody is itching to return to theaters, nobody wants to be anywhere near that kind of proximity to other people. When people speculate stuff like this will end Theatres I just laugh.

I have; didn't really think of that.. it can be fun, but getting tickets for a major premiere for a group of friends is pretty tough around here.Have you ever been to a major premier? People laugh, scream, cheer and everything. It’s an experience with the right crowd.
