I'm against capital punishment, but when you read something like this, it really makes you think WTF? I mean how can people get to the point where they torture someone like that? Is there no shred of humanity in these people?

I don't see how anybody would be able to do that kind of thing. I read the article again, and it mentions that the offenders were drugged up. I'm guessing 2-C-T-7, I've heard of people going into murderous/insane rages after taking it, unless they were just naturally fucked up. Fuck them either way.

I remember that case. When it was revealed the killers were only 10 years old it was sickening and the sort of thing that couldn't quite register. I can't believe they're out and into society now...that's disgusting.

*sigh* such silly hippie crap. If someone does a horrible thing for unprovoked ridiculous reasons, they surely deserve really bad stuff in return. It's been conventional wisdom for thousands of years. It's not hypocrisy, because it's not the same thing. One was a barbaric brutal random act, the other is measured punishment. And saying they deserve it is a natural cathartic thing. Everyone knows society is too kind to actually let it happen, so telling them they deserve to have it happen to them, and "slapping them on the wrist" with life in punishment is the worst that will happen, when we all know much worse should.

I think the hypocrisy he was trying to get at was olimario's all too often use of Christianity to label someone morally inferior to him combined with his lack of Christian forgiveness. That is what I was trying to get at when I posted "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

I really don't get reactions like this. It's not like torturing them would accomplish anything except maybe to satiate your sick need for vengence. Wouldn't simply removing them from society so that they can't do the same thing again be enough?

What ever method removes them from society and costs tax payers the least about of money. Last I heard death sentences cost more, if not....put them down.
