The songs previewed that aren't roar are terrible

Agreed. I was underwhelmed with everything she's released outside of Roar with even Roar itself being shockingly mediocre. I shall reserve final judgement until previewing the album in its entirety which is supposed to be happening via iTunes soon. I want Katy to release something wonderful but thus far it appears Prism may be a much weaker album than Teenage Dream which was just hit after hit of pop perfection. We'll see with the previews. Hopefully she has at least a few hits on there.

It's going to be interesting to read the reviews and impressions of this one.

The only good songs I really liked were Out Alive, Supernatural and to some extent.. C'mon.
The rest was really basic and forgettable imo

Pleasantly surprised with what I've heard so far, even if I haven't found any potential massive hits. I was starting to worry a bit, Roar and Dark Horse (although it has started growing on me) were just ok, and I didnt even like Walking on Air.

Listened to the previews... album doesn't do much for me. Sounds like a typical Katy Perry record. "Love Me", "Double Rainbow", and "Choose Your Battles" sounded cool though

Have heard Roar on the radio at least a million times in places where I have no control (getting hair cut, in a store, in a restaurant, etc.). I'm pissed that is exists because it's one of the worst songs in years.

My wife went to school with Katy Perry until Katy dropped out. Wish she'd drop out of making music, amirite? Or does she just show up and they make the music and pitch correct her yelling for her?

If I had any expectations for this album, I probably would say I'm disappointed.

As it stands now, I just dislike pretty much every track except for: Roar, International Smile, and Love Me.

Dark Horse's beat still kills, but she sounds awful on it, and Juicy J just ruins the track. I'd give it another shot if she put out a version without him (ala Ellie Goulding's Hanging On) though.

Meh. Next.

Honestly, I'm not feeling this album at all. But I hope it grows on me. I didn't really like Dark Horse when it came out, but ended up REALLY loving that track (minus the shitty rapping part). Nothing is really jumping out at all, it's just a very dull album with not a lot that is catchy.

Didn't she perform most of these songs at the iTunes festival a week or so ago? I could swear I've heard a few of these. Either way, I've always considered myself a pretty big fan of hers, and while it might seem silly to you, I've always respected her lyrical talents, but this album seems a bit on the average side.

I really have to give it a good listen, though. That's just my initial impression.

I feel like some of the hooks aren't good enough to be hits, but I thought Firework had a bad hook and that was huge. This might be the best produced Perry album.
