Do I want a Switch 2?

Should I drop $700 on a Switch 2, MKW, DKB, and BotW?

I thought I was impervious to its allure but, having seen footage of them, I find myself craving DKB and MKW. Also, having never played BotW, a 4K/60 version of that is looking rather attractive as well.

However, I'm looking at dropping $700 for the Switch2/MKW bundle + DKB + BotW, and my inner accountant is screaming, "Don't be a fucking idiot!" But the idiot in me simply drools and smiles. They're about to throw down.

So, NeoGAF, I come to you for guidance.

Do I want this? Tell me true.

I would rather spend the money on Marrio Kart, Zelda, Donkey Kong.

Im thinking of buying the Switch 2 just so i can play while i travel

Seeing your avatar, I get that you are either a cat or a dolphin. Are you sure you will be able to play the console to begin with ?

If you have the money then why not.

Just don't be like that dude who owns the PS12345 and it's in debt because of it.

I kind of feel the same way. I had the Switch 2 in my Target cart when they restocked last week but I couldn't press submit. I want to play DKB and TOTK enhanced but that's a lot and I certainly have plenty of games to play. I also don't really care about MKW.

Erm... It's 1440p (which is a great res).

Get one if you want one.

+ Metroid prime 1 remaster, Astral Chain and all Xenoblade series, but maybe that's too much day 1, you'll be busy for a long time with DKB & BOTW. If you missed out on Switch 1 that's a ton of content to catch up to.

If you are into Nintendo games, do it.

Consoles dont drop in price anymore, so pointless to wait for a good collection to be made.

Personally for me, its a mild curiosity so am sticking to Switch 1. I do come across some legit bangers from time to time.

The mk bundle is the best option for now, but you can always resell the other games once you are done with them, as long you buy physical, of course.

In fact, maybe just get mkw for now. It's not like you gonna play all three games at once anyway.

Why are you asking here? Just fucking buy one if you can afford it. Stop being a pussy. If you can't afford it, don't be an idiot - don't buy it.

But if you can afford it, and you love video games, buy it.

BoTW, ToTK, DKB, MKW, Metroid Prime 4, etc all worth it. MKW is my least played but still great, Bananza rules. The Zelda Switch 2 updates rule. Play BoTW first though and then take a long break before ToTK.

The future is super bright for it.

I finally broke today.

I have ordered and canceled four different times. I have watched for stock off and on since launch. I decided this morning to go ahead and order and not cancel. For one, I will no longer think about it. Secondly, I am sure I would get one eventually anyway. Might as well jump now.

Buy it. Don't buy MKW if you don't care about it. DKB and ToTK (or BoTW first if you haven't played it).

I skipped the launch thinking I´ll get one a few years. I wasn´t very excited about it but since Donkey Kong released and seeing how BC turned out great I´m having massive FOMO.

Here the thing. Consoles don't really go down in price anymore. Switch never dropped price officially, and other consoles have only gone up.

It's a Nintendo console and will have great first party titles as well as a lot of great third party titles. If the Switch 2 has games you want then go for it.

Xenoblade and Astral Chain really need that Switch 2 update or at least an option to run them in desktop mode.

Maybe wait for the updated model if you don't feel any rush. It should be here in 2-3 years. The game library should be much better at that point too.
