DO NOT put your PSP to sleep while the MS is active

i did it without thinking, not realizing that Wipeout Pure was saving. When i woke the system, it gave me an error related to the save. When i went to the saved game utility in the game section of the home screen, and it reported there were no saved games. After turning the system off and on a couple of times, the saves reappeared, seemingly unharmed. i've since backed the files up just in case.

I take it somebody didn't read the manual....
What's that?

But like i said in my original post, it was accidental. i'm so used to suspending my game now it's almost replaced pausing it.

I do this all the time by accident. My fat hands accidentally push the power switch up for a brief second while it's doing the autosave after a race. I usually just lose the data from the race though. It's annoying that it's so easy to flip the switch accidentally.

DO NOT TOUCH THE POWER OR RESET BUTTON WHILE THE GAME IS SAVING!!

hehehe... that warning has only existed for what now, 18 years? :P

yeah, that sucks. I also see it happening accidentally because of the no clicky on the power switch. you brush your hand against the power, send it to standby.. no save...

Not only has that warning been around for a while, but there is actually a screen specific to Wipeout Pure with a similar warning that appears during start up (just in case you've forgotten after all these years). Clearly, the poster simply made a mistake and did not realize it was accecssing.

Heh. I've held my tongue on several 'coo psp tips' I've seen around here that have all been in manual.
Normally I'm the same way in regards to things mentioned in the instruction booklet, but c'mon, the PSP manual is huge.

that's because it's the same thing in like 5 different languages. It's really not big at all.

Not true. There are only two languages in that manual. The English section is over 120 pages long!

The missus NEVER reads manuals... she drives me absolutely crazy with that.. just turns things on and starts messing around with them... and I'm jumping around in the background trying my damnest to hold my tongue... <sigh> ;)

It's still very easy to get through.

Somewhat of a coincidence, Wipeout just crashed on me while I was loading a file. Right at the beginning, when you choose your profile. The access light was lit at the time, but no damage was done to any of my files (which I don't think would happen anyways since I was loading, not saving).
