Until recently I have not believed in fate i.e. out path is laid out before us, believing it to be a religious idea.
However, I must have been wrong there because fate implies that choce and free will is an illusion because we have no control on the events that will take place in the future. And Christianity at least says that human's have choice, hence evil etc.
I then began to think of whether fate existed. I came to believe it was, but making two large asssumptions.
i) Nothing is random, most importantly chemical recations etc
ii) Our conscious is based on the make up of our brain.
I tend to believe nothing is random despite cases where it is practically impossible to predict what will happen.
We make 'choices' in our conscious (is that what I mean?) and our conscious is based on the make up our brain. If the make up of the brain wasn't random, then even out choices aren't, as in, even though we believe we can do this but choose to do that, our brain means that we will have never done the other option.
If this is the case then everything is already laid out but in an unimaginable complex web.
What are your thoughts on fate? And please pick holes in my argument.
