Not much is known about the circumstances behind this strange picture. However it was taken by a total stranger through a Nokia 7250 picture-phone at Eastwood City in Manilla when a strange ghostly figure was seen apparently grabbing the arm of one of the women in the picture. Nothing was seen or felt at the time the picture was taken but it seems to be quite a friendly spirit.

floating_head.jpg

This was just another ordinary picture of a computer work-station in a suburban home and nothing was noticed out of the ordinary until the film was developed. Clearly floating on the computer screen, which was turned off at the time, is a dis-embodied head which is definately not someone in the background or the picture-taker herself. The photographer beleives it to be the ghost of her deceased husband but he appears much younger than when he left this earth

This remarkable image first appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times (12-21-03) and was apparently captured with a closed-circuit security camera at Hampton Court Palace in London, England. The palace was built in 1525 on the River Thames 10 miles west of central London and was one the the places that King Henry VIII lived. Jane Seymour, his third wife, died there giving birth to a son, and her ghost is said to walk through one of the cobbled courtyards carrying a candle. No one seems to know what this ghostly figure represents but according to security, it sures looks like a ghost.

I wanna look at the third pic but it's not showing up. It's the only description that seems plausible. The first pic looks cool though, and the second is .... is... :lol :lol

Any one else think that the head in this bears a striking resemblance to Al Bundy?

What-the-fuck-ever. That's clearly a TV set... not a computer monitor.. and it's clearly turned on. The fact that the head on the screen appears disembodied is due to the fact that the ambient light reflection from the nearby window obscures the rest of the video image. Jeez.

Notice there are actually two 'reflections' on that screen. The really bright reflection (to the left of the head) is actually being displayed on the screen. It's a window behind the charcter on screen, not a reflection of the persons room (but there is a reflection of the room obscuring the picture, right under the head)

If you ever can find it, go watch the Thai movie Shutter. It deals with the ghostly apparations that appear on photographs and shit.. about 20-30 mins in they start showing the real pics, even polaroids. Needless to say I shat a few bricks when that happened.

But yeah I believe in ghosts.. there's been way too many fucked up moments in my life that just can't be done by anything else. Fridge door opening all the time fully, lamp flickering on and off constantly, hearing someone walk around upstairs but then going up there to see no one is there and all the doors locked.

My girlfriend's sister can see them apparently. We'll go see a movie and then she'll suddenly grab your hand and "squash" it a few times depending on how many ghosts she can see. When we saw Howl's Moving Castle, every seat was taken but she said there were 4 ghosts in the cinema.. kinda freaks you out as to where they are. She says they look normal.. sometimes they have a very weird facial expression or they have no arm or no leg. One she saw on the MRT (subway) in Singapore had no legs but it was "walking" around as if it had legs. Fuck that.

Whether or not she can see them is another issue but I believe she does.

When I was smaller, I recall two places when I saw *something*. The first was at the Whaley House, and the second was a collection of instances at my first house on the stairs in front of my room.

Whether or not they actually happened though, I'm not so sure. Could've just been my overractive imagination...

Damn. I have heard of a few people having a 'third eye' and all..and really, it is one of the worst things that they have to live with.

So how does this sister act normally? Sounds like she may have a few screws loose... and not because she can see ghosts. =P

And those things about the house it happens in ours too. The fridge would open like that because the seal that keeps the fridge closed would get dirty and hearing someone walking around upstairs (or hearing things fall down) is usually because of the house settling (it is a rhythmic noise). The lamp could be a lot of different things, so I'm not even going to guess.

I don't believe in ghosts but i do get paranoid as hell when I'm wearing my canalphones while sitting in a dark room and i think i hear something outside of them, but usually it's something in the recording that they need to fix. In some songs i can hear a door knocking or other weird noises... and yes, it is something in the song because it's in the same place in the song everytime.

I just entered the fourth grade at Horicon Elementary School. It was my first year there so I didn't have any friends and I was definitely not a social butterfly. One kid I got along with was Daryll. We talked on the first day, hung out at recess, etc. Sat next to each other in music class. Not like an instant bond or anything, but he was the only kid to open up to me in my first week or so there.

I think like a week or two passed. We came back from labor day vacationand our buses dropped us off about 5 minutes before school or so so we could usually chill out on the playground before the bell rang. so I played with daryll as usual. when the bell rang to go in we both went but then he ran back to the playground. I told him to come or I was going to tell the teacher on him. he said he didn't care. So I went in and told our teacher. she told me to take a seat but I told her that he was still out there. She told me to take my seat now.

She then informed the class that Daryll and his uncle were killed two days earlier in an airplane crash.

The funny thing is at the time it didn't really sink in, what had happened before the bell rang.. I was a little confused, but at 9 years old certain things just don't register. It wasn't until I was older that I realized what had happened. And make no qualms about it. I played with him as sure as I am typing this right now. I remember very distinctly looking back that at that moment life was just as it had been for the past two weeks, no different.

anyway, there is my little story. of further interest, Horicon was actually in the news a few more times over the years for ghost stories. It even made an episode of Unsolved Mysteries for one of those stories as well as a few ghost investigation type shows.

I try not to believe.

I'm a spook story / horror fan. So the fan part wants to believe, but the completely non-religious part is always available to handily smack me down.

I'll sign on as a "no", if only so I can sleep better at night.

The music for that show rocks, used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger. :lol

I didn't believe in ghosts until a friend of mine so vividly described seeing one, a Victorian-era girl who looked at him, tilted her head, and did that Kodama-from-Princess-Mononoke-head-shake thing. I was freaked out, and I wasn't even there.

That first pic is pretty good for a photoshop. I sometimes wish ghosts were real and scientifically proven just to see how the world and church would respond.

Anyone who says they believe in ghosts are looking upon as idiots by society so I'm not suprised by the reaction in this thread. Personally I feel there ARE paranormal aspects in the world. I've personally encountered strange things in my own house (things like objects being moved when I KNOW no one was doing it--and none of us sleepwalk).

I think I would have to educate myself further on the subject before saying if I believe or not.

I've had the whole "someone sitting on my bed/or standing over me" scenario plenty of times when I was living by myself, locked door and all, but supposedly there's an explanation for it that doesn't involve ghosts.

What's funny is that they all look like they're rolling their eyes, as if to say, "man, this guy REALLY believes that ghosts exist?" ;) :D

No... But now that you mention it. It feels creepy masturbating, or having sex with the thought that there could be a crowd of ghosts standing around watching you.

I believe in ghosts about as much as I believe in goblins, angels, and the tooth fairy which is to say not at all.

My old house was haunted...well my current house, but I'm out for College now.

Anyways...my sister and my brother have had experiences with them...

My sisters:

Wakes up in the middle of the night and sees an old man sitting her chair. Sitting there, staring at her. She hides under the covers for a few minutes, and looks, and he's gone.

My brothers is a little more fucked up.

It was Christmas Eve about 5 years ago, and he was in bed when two 'ghosts' walked into his room and stood by his bed (both sides, across from each other) they were just looking at him and examining him. Their mouths were moving as if they were talking to each other, but he didn't hear anything.

He tried swiping at them and went right through, he got up and ran out of the room and into the spare bedroom. Same thing happened a couple hours later...

He ended up sleeping with my dad (he was like...20) for the night while mom set up Christmas shit.

My brothers had similar experiences, also at night and in bed, which makes you wonder if they were really dreaming. It's almost too convenient that ghosts would appear when you could be in a dream state.

I think people have a hard time differentiating between dreams/nightmares and real life. I know i do. Like the other night I was having a nightmare about animals in different shapes (deformed scary looking hobbes tiger) appearing before my bed. I immediately got up and wondered what the hell was going on. Went back to bed about 15 minutes later and the same thing happened again, but this time i knew that it was a dream because I had the covers over my head this time and couldn't possibly see animals in front of me with the covers like that.

That'll teach me to eat a late night snack before going to bed...

I've never seen any myself, and I'm a pretty objective sort of person, but I've heard way too many accounts from trusted people to disbelieve in them.
