I have always been intrigued by Bigfoot, UFOs, Ghosts, and other paranormal things... but none has caught my interest as much as Nessie. I dont really wanna go into everything I know, but Im just curious to see if you guys believe in the Loch Ness monster or not, and why.

Here are some of the pics that help me believe it's real:

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
The Loch Ness Monster is bullshit. The guy who originally took the picture admitted it was fake, doctored, while dying on his death bed. And seriously, that makes a shitload more sense than some single monstrous mysterious creature lurking about a lake all these years with absolutely no solid evidence of its existence.

UFOS- yes, I believe in unidentified flying objects. I also believe that they're always either something like a weather balloon, or top-secret aircraft designed by the air force at Area51 oro something.

Bigfoot- I don't know as much about Bigfoot as the Loch Ness Monster, but I'll bet their origins are similar.

Ghosts- I don't fuckin know. A belief in ghosts opens up the door to a whole bunch of other shit that I have a really hard time swallowing, and so far I have yet to see solid proof of the existence of ghosts, aside from crap that could have been doctored or can be explained in non-supernatural ways

I used to not believe in ghosts, but then I saw first hand a seance that went very very weird. Now, I would still say I don't believe in ghosts, but I definately don't rule invisible shit right out.

HAHHA, funny... because that wasnt the original picture! That picture was called the surgeon's photo and came after the first famous picture... which is:

The first pic is a known fake.

Nessie is believed to be a Plesiosaur and isn't the only modern day dinosaur spotted, she's just the most famous. There's also Mokele-mbembe in the Likouala swamps of the northern Congo. The movie Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend was based on Mokele-mbembe.

When the Romans first came to northern Scotland in the first century A.D., they found the Highlands occupied by fierce, tattoo-covered tribes they called the Picts, or painted people. From the carved, standing stones still found in the region around Loch Ness, it is clear the Picts were fascinated by animals, and careful to render them with great fidelity. All the animals depicted on the Pictish stones are lifelike and easily recognizable—all but one. The exception is a strange beast with an elongated beak or muzzle, a head locket or spout, and flippers instead of feet. Described by some scholars as a swimming elephant, the Pictish beast is the earliest known evidence for an idea that has held sway in the Scottish Highlands for at least 1,500 years—that Loch Ness is home to a mysterious aquatic animal.

The earliest written reference linking such creatures to Loch Ness is in the biography of Saint Columba, the man credited with introducing Christianity to Scotland. In A.D. 565, according to this account, Columba was on his way to visit a Pictish king when he stopped along the shore of Loch Ness. Seeing a large beast about to attack a man who was swimming in the lake, Columba raised his hand, invoking the name of God and commanding the monster to "go back with all speed." The beast complied, and the swimmer was saved.

When Nicholas Witchell, a future BBC correspondent, researched the history of the legend for his 1974 book The Loch Ness Story, he found about a dozen pre-20th-century references to large animals in Loch Ness, gradually shifting in character from these clearly mythical accounts to something more like eyewitness descriptions.

The legend of the Loch Ness Monster was around LONG before the guy faked that photo.

I believe in ghosts/spirits. I don't have a scientific explanation, and I don't think one would be believed anyway. As a hobby a few friends and I occasionally go on "ghost hunts," visiting graveyards and such and taking pictures. Often times we get pictures of one or sometimes hundreds of white orbs floating about. These are not defects with the camera.

For example, the last time we were walking out of the cementary after a few pictures. I said "what the heck, my back is tingling." My friend takes a quick picture behind us. There are HUNDREDS of little orbs behind us. Then we take a picture in front of us. No orbs, just a crystal clear picture. He takes another picture behind us, and the hundred orbs are back. I will repeat, this is not a defect of the camera.

We've also had a few interesting experiences with the good ole' Quija board. Most people don't believe the strange stuff that happens with these bad boys simply because they are a commercial product. Regardless, I've had many unexplainable occurances with Quija boards.

I personally don't have the pictures. The one with the camera does have them uploaded somewhere, on Yahoo maybe. I'll see if he'll upload some of the best pictures and then let you all know.

EDIT: Here is a gallery of "ghost" pictures and videos. Our pictures (of orbs) usually look similar.

Other interesting things usually happen with the cameras. Sometimes when we go on our hunts the batteries of the cameras go to hell. I remember one time at a placed called the "Witch Tower." We got there and we had bought several packs of new batteries for my friend's camera. We parked the car and walked about a half-mile to the place and then put in the batteries. Unfortunately, the camera wouldn't work. We went through ALL (about 12 brand NEW batteries) and none of them would work. When we got back to the car I suggested we try the camera one more time. Sure enough, the camera worked with all the new batteries. I have NO idea how to explain that incident. :\

NOTE: I didn't mention it above, but I don't believe in UFOs or Bigfoot or Lochness or what have you. There's just something about ghosts that make me believe. They may not be real, but I don't really care. What is that line from Secondhand Lions? "Just because something's not real doesn't mean you can't believe in it?" That applies in my case.

I've always been fascinated with ghosts since I was a child. But at the same time I know I'd shit my pants if I ever encounter one.

I'd put the Loch Ness Monster in the same bin as Bigfoot, UFOs, gods, or sewer-gators. Until I see a reason to believe in them, I'll consider them to be the work/imaginings of humans, rather than things that exist in their own right. I'll freely admit, though, that none of these things are of much interest to me.

(Well, okay, "UFOs" do exist, but they aren't flown by space aliens.)
