Worked with a great, out-of-leftfield band tonight, loud & quite avante-garde, just the kind of original sound that really makes an enjoyable nights work for me.

Reminded me of Sonic Youth a little, so if you like them, give these guys a listen.

Not what I'd call 'accessible' if you're not really into different & strange shit, but I love stuff like this.

Anyway, they gave me permission to host/post this track for a short period, see what you think

What's that song called were some guy says "Karsten," and then Karsten answeres, "What? What?"

I loved Sonic Youth until I was stuck listening to two of them debate 'Art Films' with an (incredibly aggravating) scenester in the local video rental shop. I'm on the other side of the rack, trying to figure out what to rent, and there's this droning critique going on about...every...goddamn...flick....on....the...rack. Loudly. The scenester was trying so hard to impress, I swear, you could hear the slobbering. Not even stuff they're gonna rent- just anything that happens to be sitting there. Argh, Rock Star Mythology = crushed! :lol

I still love the early stuff, though. Sister rocks. :D

Their names were mentioned in the original Silent Hill. I think I should check it out.
Yeah, I remember seeing them on the hospital registry. The names took a bit to register, but I got a good laugh out of it. :D

Love the band's music, though I've heard them in an interview and what they had to say wasn't that impressive. :p Their music speaks for itself.

I'm sorry, the entire band Sonic Youth was debating art films in your local video store with some fan? This is the anecdote, yes?

Nope, just two of them. I was trying to imply a certain amount of sarcasm, which clearly failed. I'll edit the post. :D

how i loved sonic youth's late 80´s early 90's albums, starting with sister/EVOL and ending with dirty.

its not that they produced bad albums, just different ones. i still cant listen to their early stuff...

daydream nation and Goo! are their highpoints to me.
should i take another look at their later stuff?

You mean "Thurston?", and then "Watt!"

Thats Providence off of Daydream Nation

as for the posted MP3, it was pretty good, I would be interested in hearing more from the band.
