I was just watching random YouTube suggestions tonight and it reminded me how much I laughed at Tropic Thunder in the theater. The entire place was rolling back in 2008 / 2009. And it got me thinking, this is probably the last major movie of its kind we'll see.

I mean Downey doing not just black face but leaning into it. Stiller straight up playing "a retard". Jack Black making full on mockery of drug addled comedians. What's his face with the mud flaps making dick and titty jokes. Tom Cruise doing his level best to make fun of Jewish movie executives.

We'll probably never see another movie like this again, and it is still funny as hell.

Dear God no.

Comedy is the enemy of the Authoritarian. If people think they can make jokes about sensitive subjects, they might stop being afraid of the consequences of questioning how they're told to act about them.

it's easier to get offended and tell others why you and they should be offended. To show that you care. Than it is to actually do something constructive and positive to fix it.
 
yes, like the current anal rip strain i have which will heal in maybe end of october, yes, they can definitely make it.

only caveat is people these days complain too much because there's no WW4.

i would not make up a story about it. it was unbearable pain 4 days ago, like a stabbing pain in my rectum. hurts still, but not so much. sign from Allah that i got to stop drinking sodas and more water, excercise more and lost weight fo reals. i thought it hemerroids but its an anal rip because i have been eating fast food these last 2 months almost everyday and no water, so my digestion is terrible. that's my fault.

been eating a lot of fiber so the poo goes real quick, but the pain is still there. hurts when it goes down the toilet.

I watched it a couple weeks ago and I don't actually think it's all that funny as a whole, there's some good stuff in there like RDJ of course but I didn't love it as much as I thought I would rewatching it. I respect it's balls more than I actually like watching it.

I didn't realize it was cowritten by the guy who plays the director in Mullholland Drive.

You obviously couldn't make that movie as written again in today's climate, and honestly I'm surprised they haven't given RDJ more shit for it in the press and forced an apology out of him.

I was watching an interview thing with Jack Black on YT it was like "most iconic JB characters" and he blurbs about them all, he gets to Nacho Libre and Jack does this song and dance about how when he was cast he was like "I don't know if I should play this character", but then the director said Nacho has like American parents or something, which made it all cool for JB. Just made me laugh and roll my eyes, just say it Jack - the world was different and you could be a white guy playing a funny Mexican and no one cared.

Yes, if it has a cast of trans actors, directed by a Muslim director, and produced by the CCP. Then the SJWs can't say shit because by their own rules it would make them transphobic, xenophobic, and Islamophobic.

Probably not, even though the context of the "offensive" stuff isn't offensive at all. Its mostly just making fun of Hollywood.
 
It could be made legally of course, but no high profile stars would dare being involved for fear of being labelled racist and cancellation.
