Do you watch the credits after you beat a game?

Most of the time I immediately start mashing the controller to see what button allows me to skip. If i can't, I leave the room or do something else till it's over. Some are incredibly long and I really have no desire to view them. Put them in the main menu as an extra like most do so people who want to view them can and let others skip.

I let them roll if there's a trophy for watching them or if they're interactive. Otherwise, I just skip the shit out of it.

Actually watch them? Only if I want to know the name of some specific member. Usually voice actors, because more often than not I'm already familiar with the team behind the games I play, but there are some games I want to know the names of certain members of the staff.

Most of the times I'll just either skip or just chill listening to the music if it's good, but will be either thinking about the experience or doing something else while it plays. I get that people like to pay respects to the devs, but I feel like my money should be enough. When you think about the money games cost in working hours, it's hard to think you owe them 15 more minutes (or 12 hours if it's Ubisoft) on top of that.

I let them roll, open my laptop and go on neogaf to read what other people think about the game.

And then I find out the game I've been playing is nothing but trash.

I'll probably be one of the people saying this, tbh.

I always do, I like to think about it as an act of respect for their hard work in giving me hours of entertainment, which I deeply appreciate and I know that work was difficult, so at least I could check the names of those who sacrificed many hours of their lives making the software I wanted to play.

If there's actively something going on during the credits, like a voice over, images, clips, or the sort, I'll sit and watch. If it's just the credits, I'll get up and work on something else nearby while I wait for them to be over in case there's a scene or something afterwards.

There was a game on 360 that gave you a hidden achievement for letting the credits roll fully without you pressing a button. That's made me queasy to ever skip them again. So stupid.

Always. I find it as a way to give respect to the people who made the game I guess. Plus I mostly play Nintendo games, and they have been on point with credit music for the past several years.

I always do. A lot of the times to see the VAs though generally I just watch the credits to see who worked on the game but VAs is always the one section I pay extra close attention to out of curiousity.

I used to (if only out of respect for those who made it), but the credits anymore are 10-15+ minutes long and I simply don't have the patience to sit through 5 minutes of names in the international marketing dept.

Never.
Never watch them in movies or series, never watch them in games.
I really have no interest in who made the game.

Yep. I want to see if it gives me any interesting rewards at the end or if there's any fun messages embedded in there.

Also, metal gear has taught me to expect post-credits stingers -- "yes...Mr President!" WTF!!!!!!!

I always do it, for games or films. To me it has to do with respect. By watching them I personally feel like I'm paying respect to everyone who worked on the game and show appreciation for the time that I spent with it, a product that many of the people in the credits put A TON of hard work into. Also many credits have a great music.

BUT there are games where it's painful to sit through, like the Assassin's Creed games. The music is nice, but Ubisoft lists EVERY fucking person that even just remotely had to do something with the game in any way. That's getting to the point where it's ridiculous to me. I don't care who did the marketing for the app that is related in some way to the game. Heck I don't even care about the app itself. ...I still watched them though.

When the ending is super awesome, or shocking I will watch the credits to reflect upon the game one last time.

I let them play all the way through just in case there's a scene at the end. Hitting skip I would fear it'd skip the scene as well but that's just me being cautious. I'm on my phone checking GAF or emails and not paying attention to the credits until the end.

Yes always. I'm anal retentive about it and it's a burden.

A big "fuck you" to all developers who make their credits long, slow, and just text on a blank background. Make them at least somewhat interesting for the sake of your dipshit fans like me who actually watch them out of respect for the team or whatever.

A big "YOU RULE" to Visceral for making Dead Space credits interactive. You can control the scroll speed.

EDIT: Actually not literally always. Only if it's my first time beating the game. I have no problem skipping them on a replay.

Depends on the game and the publisher. If they're long as fuck, or I know they'll be long as fuck I just say forget it and go do something else.

Sure, what if there's a cool scene afterwards? Ubisoft ones are the only egregiously long ones though. Controlling the scroll speed is a blessing though and sometimes the credit music is the best like Wolfenstein: TNO

The beginning, yeah. When it starts listing the marketing team for Absurdistan or similarly insignificant positions I zone out and get something to drink or whatever.

Haven't tried skipping credits since the original Fable because that game let you play further if you actually stuck around for the credits.

Only if there's more than minimal effort put into them - decent music, maybe some concept art or animation going on. Photos like Harmonix does are a nice touch too.

Though even if they put some stuff into the credits, they always turn into miles of QA and parent company bullshit halfway through.

I'd watch (listen) if the credits have good music!

I usually stay if there are some extra images or something, otherwise I just close it if it's just a list of names.
