Do you see your life as a game?

For those who thinks you'll have a easier time achieving goals by taking the "videogame approach" go check my main man Tactus XII channel (https://www.youtube.com/@tactusxii).
He just opened a dojo (https://www.skool.com/how-to-fight/about) where everything is videogame coded, you level up attributes, learn special techniques, etc... (of course all with a pratical real life approach in mind).

When you have trained enough, if you want to learn the true power of kung-fu by mastering the most deadly kung-fu style ever, go to my other main man Mountain warrior 108 (https://www.youtube.com/@mountainwarrior108) to learn the extremely forbidden technique of Kangaroo Kungfu

(Disclaimer : As much as everything you can learn from TactusXII will help you become a stronger and better person, the teachings of Mountain warrior might not be applicable to real life situation)

If you put it like that, kind of? I do have "main objectives" and "side quests" set up, and I do track them. I find it easier to move up in life if I have clear goals and estimated dates to meet them. I even reward myself when I meet those goals.

The closest game I can think of that is similar to how I manage living life (game mechanics only) is Disco Elysium. The tasks, the luck aspect and the guiding inner voice in particular.

When I was deep in my World of Warcraft addiction, I definitely kept relating real life to it. Say the government passes a new law. I would see it as a new patch note.

The world is currently very badly pay to win. I don't expect it to change.

The best we can hope for is that at some point, the world becomes free-to-play, which means everyone can survive on the bare minimum daily handouts. But that buying SSRs is still a thing. Pay to play is too expensive to many.

Yes, like Dwarf Fortress:
- I don't understand the game.
- I don't even understand what I'm seeing.
- Everyone says is awesome but I don't even know how to play.
- Single player.
- I always loose.

Closest thing was when I was a kid sitting in back set of a car looking out the window and pretend Sonic was running alongside the car. Before smartphones existed lol.

Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied
So as you read this, know, my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone, that's all
A tout le monde
A tout mes amis
Je vous aime
Je dois partir
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free
If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say
Moving on is a simple thing
What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living are scarred
A tout le monde
A tout mes amis
Je vous aime
Je dois partir
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free
(So as you read this, know, my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile, smile when you think about me
My body's gone, that's all)
(These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free)
