Are there 6 two parters? Those episode titles all seem to mirror. (Admittedly, Raven/No More is a bit of a stretch.)

There's four two-parters - 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, and 11/12. However it does appear that there's some vague connective tissue of some sort between 5/6 as well. Based on the amount of time she was filming, I'm wondering if Masie Williams will be in both.

I love this year's episode titles. Simple, lyrical, brilliant.

I doubt it, but I wonder if the finale two parter has Missy as well, with the whole Heaven/Hell angle.

I also want to believe
As Peter Capaldi commented, ‘They’ve suddenly realised that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hell-bent on adventure.’
is more than him coincidentally using that adjective.

Really hoping the Heaven/Hell allusion doesn't mean we're seeing a return of the commercialised afterlife from Death in Heaven, that stuff was really not the best.

Sure as hell looks like the whole season is two-parters.

Moffat's got the writers and directors making 100 minute Doctor Who movies all year long.

I wouldn't be surprised if they released the two-parters in theatres on limited runs during the off-season.

Half of these seem like book references, with the standouts being The Magician's Apprentice, the Woman who Lived, Sleep No More, and Face the Raven.

"Sleep No More" and "Face The Raven" are both allusions to Macbeth aren't they?

Sleep No More is for sure. I assumed Face the Raven was a reference to Poe but I guess that'd be too on the nose. It could be a reference to something in Macbeth that I don't remember, though. I'm hoping that Magician's Apprentice and Witch's Familiar are Narnia references. Magician's apprentice is most likely a Fantasia reference, though.

Happy this is coming back. Did not spend much time in the off-season thread, so I have no idea what is happening. At least no episodes leak this year anyway...

I have no Sky+ anymore, so I might have to resort to watching these as they air.

I guess Doctor Who Extra is back this year. They even released one about the making of the 2-minute prologue to the prequel to the series. I guess some interns over there are really excited about their job.

Even though it's silly to release this for something so short it's kind of fun. It's noteworthy that the part they show right at the end isn't in the actual prologue though, so I guess Ohila might be back for the prequel or the actual series (or they just cut it out for pacing, as it looks like it takes place just before the start of the prologue).

They're going to show the actual prequel on friday right? Was that just on BBC America or BBC One as well? I hope they'll put it on youtube if it's not going to be on BBC One - won't have the chance to see it otherwise. I think this is the first time BBC America solely funded something like this, so it's hard to be sure how they'll handle it.

Which is interesting as that means every episode has a "mirroring" title which then ties in to SPECULATIVE SPOILER
The idea that the doctor's past is his own enemy in this series

I think the Master is the perfect personification of the Doctor being his own worst enemy because she's basically the bad doctor. Their motivations are different but outside of that they're actually pretty similar

Absolutely and the fact that CASTING
Missy is in it again reflects that
but I was talking about SPECULATIVE
A piece I read that had a look at a lot of the footage and known details and had pieced together a theory that the Doctor is confronting himself this series.

Man those are awesome episode titles. Love the reflective quality of them. And I'm sure it's not a coincidence that they've been listed side by side like that rather than in straight order. I still think there's gonna be some weird dual-universe thing going on.

And those Radio Time descriptions are rad too. Particularly The Woman Who Lived and Hell Bent.

Slightly bummed they changed it from Invasion of the Zygons though. The Zygon Invasion is a bit more grammatically bland to me.

Yeah that does seem to be this Doctor's thing.
The whole "you're a monster, Doctor" angle is stronger in this incarnation than it was in any of the others. That's probably pushed further by the fact that he and Danny didn't really get any real closure between the two of them before he died. Usually you expect stories like that to end with the two opposing sides being like "you're alright" but Danny's arc basically ended with him still being antagonistic towards the Doctor. That may have been because the writers want us to agree with Danny to a certain degree.

I need an Until Dawn-style Doctor Who game. And there should be a gold trophy called Just this once, Everybody Lives.

My first new season thread with GAF! I finally caught up a few months ago, so this is the first season where I can't binge watch. =(

Capaldi is probably my 2nd favorite doctor so far, so I can't wait to see where this season goes. I hope Clara and Pink are gone by the mid-point. I don't mind Clara, but Pink is the worst Companion's SO so far.

On one hand, I dislike how every episode seems to be about some deep dark secret of the Doctor's, especially when the past few season arcs have covered similar subjects, but on the other hand, the episode premises divorced of that overarching plot sound pretty great.

Welcome.

I feel the pain of not being able to binge watch anymore. I caught up on Doctor Who just before Series 4 started, and each wait felt so long. Then it got worse when I had to wait until Christmas for an episode. Then the four other specials spread throughout the year after that.

My immediate thought as well. Especially since it's the finale again.

Hey missy you so fine you so fine you blow my mind, hey missy!

Can't wait for the new stuff. I usually hate cliff hangers so I might try to wait a week and watch the 2 parters back to back.

This was known since it was announced. This is new though, from the press release, "many other original actors from the long running British science fiction television series have also returned to voice their characters in the game as well."

I clocked that...

Major LOL's if Ecclestons on board

I bet it's everyone but him. All the Big Finish players, Tennant & Smith.

When they were doing the press interviews for game they confirmed Capaldi's Doctor, Clara and Missy as having their original voices (with newly recorded dialogue), as well as Nicholas Briggs voicing the Daleks and Cybermen. All the classic Doctors have some random lines of dialogue when you turn into them, but they're all taken directly from old episodes (in McGann's case just the 50th short - the BBC doesn't own the rights to the movie). They said they haven't brought back any of the old actors, and that the only Doctor with new dialogue (and the one you'll see in cutscenes) is Capaldi.

I bet if they'll have more voice actors for Who than those four it'll be somewhat recent characters - Osgood, Strax, etc.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they kept (possible/probable series 9 spoilers)
Davros a secret, as they probably wouldn't want him to appear in promos for the game just before a new series where he might appear again starts.

I think we've just seen the regular Doctor Who level that you'll get when you buy the base game so far (featuring the Cybermen). There will be another level when you buy the Doctor Who pack - I think that was supposed to be the Dalek story, but I can't remember exactly. It's been a while since I've seen those interviews.

No idea how big the levels/game worlds are supposed to be.

Character Exclusive Content: He'll just feature in one level, get killed off between stages and will remain unplayable in the background for the rest of the game ;)

Unlock more of eight with DLC!!

Remember when people thought we might get an iPlayer exclusive series based around the 8th Doctor?

I miss those days...
