I'm worrying about one of my two roommates. He's attending meetings from ACN, some seemingly shady company that works in the energy/communication sector. I did some research on the net (looked them up at some consumer-protecting NGO's) but there are dozens of sites that talk about it being just another pyramid scheme.

Anyone experience with it, know the name or reputation? This guy is a close friend of mine and already seems to be totally indoctrinated with those ACN fella's :/, and I don't know how to help him or how to make clear to him that it seems awfully fishy.

My rule of thumb is that when a google search of x and scam turns up dozens of on-point links, stay away.

ACN is a multi-level marketing opportunity, like Quixtar, but more limited to utilities last i heard, which was a few years ago. IIRC, they utilized Qwest communications. Say what you will about MLMs, but Qwest was offering some really good deals on phone service at the time.
