My next job gives me an Apple Watch in some health plans. I use Android. Does the Apple Watch work alone for some functions?

Have you never used an app? And it's still a thing if you can't go the reverse way and use apple services on android so yes, there is absolutely ecosystems even by your weird standards.

Ive spent a few hundred bucks in the app store. I certainly don't want to fork over this money again if I switch to Android.
