Does Morrowind ever get fun???

I was curious to see how everyones game is going and figured I'd bump it with comments on how my new game has been going so far.

Since I started over, I made a custom class - the closest thing to it would be a rogue. Since I've played the game so many times, I've come to the realization that the easiest way to get through the game is to make the most money the fastest. Once you get ridiculous amounts of money, you can just spend all day training up your skills and leveling and you can walk all over the baddies, so I concentrated on making the most money in the shortest amount of time.

I made speechcraft and mercantile major skills, as well as sneak and made sure security was in there as well. I made my two major attributes personality and agility. So far, it's going well. I've already completed all the thieves' guild quests in balmora and have decent security/sneaking stats and that helps in looting people's houses for stuff to sell :)

I'm doing a few of the main story quests as well, then I'll likely work on doing the rest of the thieves' guild quests. Maybe I'll join the Morang Tong this time - I've never tried assassination before. Damn, this game hasn't become any less fun over time.

I'm getting back into a full fighter gig in Morrowind. I find it the easiest way to make money because they can steal stuff respectably well if you know where to look, and can get down to business on quests pretty quick. I also want to get back to where I was on my old, long gone saved game, decked out in that heavy as hell armor, and glowing high-end gear. I always loved just wandering around, stumbling upon a bandit's cave, or hidden ruins, clearing the thing, and coming out with insane gear. :)

I am now level 6 crusdaer, just done all the fighter guild quests in the first town!

also stole all the soul gems from the mage guild one of them is worth 60k gold!

just moved all my junk into that orc ladies house that I killed in a fighter guild quest.

Starting to enjoy the game

- Great leveling up system
- Deep character Creation system
- Very detailed being able to steal pillows etc.
- Large amount of customizations for weapons armor etc..

I like the fighter guild quests because you always have to kill someone and normally collect their money. Generally I don’t talk I just kill them it’s my dark elf’s style.

I am also thinking about joining that family house is Balmora?? Spelling

Also My 4 top skills are

Long Sword
Destruction
Heavy armor
Block

The game has a very slow learning curve but it’s worth it, thanks to the people in this thread helping me to continue that game and giving me pointers.

I manly stuck with it because I can’t stand when people say I played baldur’s gate for 30 mins it sucked so I never played it again! It’s only fair to give such a high profile game a decent chance.

If you like the fighter's guild quests, you may want to consider joining the imperial legion as well. The quests are also designed for a fighter type character, and you get some worthwhile gear for working your way up the ranks. The only downside is that you must wear the imperial legion armour while you are dealing with them. If it's worse than what you already have on, store it somewhere and then go get when you are going to deal with them for completing quests or anything like that. If you join them early enough in the game, all the armour you get from them is good for the level you get them at - and free, to top it off. You can get directions on where to join them at fort moonmoth, which is south of balmora (where you meet up with cassius and start off with the main story quests). It's very close by to where you go to do the quest for the Dwemar puzzle box. Look for the head person inside the fort and they should give you a location you can go to join the legion (I don't remember what the town is called, but it's in the western side of the continent near the coast).

Glad to see you're enjoying yourself :)

edit: fixed the wording of a few sentences, they didn't really make sense

The imperial legion sounds a bit too “good” for my character, I am not a member but there champion gladiator did give me a quest to hunt down a bandit.

I might think about joining

I am using the Dwemar armor and shield, know I have heard they are illegal but no one has taken an interest in me yet.

They are illegal to sell, but you shouldn't have any problems by using them. I never did, anyway. The trouble with Dwemar stuff is that it's usually pretty heavy, so unless you're going hardcore fighter (like you are), it's hard to carry any items and wear it at the same time. I think the shield was managable, but the full armour sets are just about the heaviest things in the game if I remember right.

The one Dwemar short sword that casts paralyze is pretty awesome (I take it that's what you're using). If I had one, I'd be using it right now :)

edit: you should be able to join, it doesn't really matter how "evil" your character is

some of the stuff they have you do is sort of suspect if I remember right anyway

Well they tell me to come back when things are “better” I got offered to join on my way to balmora but they will not let me anymore!

Anyway I joined the dark elf temple only because I had a look at that book on pilgrimages and it looked fun! There must be some good items in ancient temples.

I also got caught doing a “snatch and grab” on that alchemist in velic, now I paid 90 gold that the guard wanted but I lost the formula! I take it I now need to rob the evidence chest?

BTW I am using a long sword that does shock damage

You know, that's one reason to save and save often. If someone catches you after stealing something, you lose all stolen posessions you have. I don't know how you get it back now. I'd check and see if it's back where you got it from, but if not, I don't know where you'd find it :/

At the nearest imperial legion fort.

..One time while I was raiding one, I opened the evidence chest and it was full of cool shit. I was like "hey.. this stuff looks kinda familiar.. OH SHIT THIS IS MINE."

hahaha

awesome

that makes sense, bethesda knows what they're doing, and if the items just disappeared, in certain situations, that would make the game unbeatable if you got caught

progress update: Finished all thieves guild quests in balmora, ald'run and working on the ones in sadrith mora. the quest I'm on in sadrith mora requires me to find 4 pieces of raw ebony. usually I've found tons of it by then, but I haven't done much exploration into Dwemar ruins yet, so I haven't found any. I figured I'd come back to that quest later.

Joined the fighter's guild, and finished all the quests in balmora and started on the ones in ald'run. I just finished the one where you need to go to Vas. Pain in the ass. Since I have close to 100 speed, I was able to run away from the person you need to protect and run into the room where all the shit hits the fan, then kill the necromancer and get the hell out without her running into the fight and getthing annhilated. That quest was always a pain, but it wasn't so bad this time. The only thing that sucks about it is that Vas is way out in the middle of nowhere so you have to trudge all the way over to it and back when you're done (unless you're a mage and have mark/recall).

Been working on the blades quests when I could as well. The one I've got to do now is running out to that Urishaku (I know I'm spelling this wrong, but it something along those lines) camp and speak to them about the Nereverine prophecies. Another trudge quest, but at least I'll get to see some Dwemar ruins on the way :)

Damn, this game rocks.

Update

Finished the Fighter guild quests in Balmora

Finished the First set of Mage guild quests in balmora, now I am doing the 2nd tier quests

Done a few quests for my house, but now I need to find that “recipe sheet” I stole I got
captured by orators (I thinks that’s what they are called) in vivec. Now I got to find the vivec evidence chest!!!

Done the first few blades quests

Got the Orc armor WOOT! And I sold it used the cash to make my security skill 21

EDIT: I might try the nearest imperial fort, it would be palgreid(spelling?)if I am not mistaken

Good luck with that one. I don't know where it is, but if I had to guess, I would assume it's going to be somewhere in the Temple canton. Vivec is probably the most massive in-game city I have ever seen in a game played from first/third person and it took me a good hour or so to finally get to the point I was proficient in navigating it.

When I get off work later tonight, I'm going to start playing again. I think I'll do the next blades quest because odds are I will be able to find some raw ebony by checking out the Dwemar ruins on the way and that will take care of the sadrith mora thieves guild quest at the same time

Do The Mario: What version of the game for xbox did you pick up, just out of curiosity?

GOTY:ED, defiantly worth the extra cash for the 100+ hours it add’s.

The enemies also have a health bar unlike the normal version which is a big help!

Dam I just broke into the evidence chest in the fort I didn’t find it!

Looks like I am going to search vivec, however if I get arrested I will find out were the voidance chest is as it’s always next to the cells.

Could save me some time!

If the GOTY edition is the same as the one I picked up for PC, it will come with both expansions. I've only installed the original game for now, and once I'm done the main quest I'll install Tribunal. Reason being I know what the game does in order to allow you to go to the new areas in Tribunal and I'd rather avoid it for now. You end up getting attacked by these ninjas wearing all black with glass weapons every time you sleep outside (and even sometimes inside). If you follow up the leads you get, it eventually gets you to the main city in the Tribunal expansion. These guys are a pain in the ass. They're not super difficult to kill, but if you're resting because you have almost on health and they come, that's all it takes to get owned and die.

Have you seen those guys yet? If the XBOX GOTY version includes Tribunal and Bloodmoon, you should have seen them by now I'd guess. Their equipment sells for a lot, which rocks but I don't enjoy running into them when I'm low on health looking for a good nights rest. I'll wait until I'm done the original game before I install the expansion this time :)

Yup I have bumped into one, but his body was under several cliff racers so I couldn’t get his items!

Also I need to kill some lizard man in the south wall for practicing illegal magic, well I don’t need to kill him but I want too. How can I get him to attack me?

In order to do it easily, you need to have a decently high speechcraft skills. If you goto persuade and then insult them over and over, they will get pissed off and attack you. If your speechcraft is fairly low, it will just piss them off and they won't want to talk to you anymore, but if it's high enough you will get attacked. This is an awesome way to get an item you know they've got if your sneak/security skill isn't high enough to steal it unnoticed. Since they attack you first, there are no reprocussions for it

Do the Mario it seems like you've put in some decent time with the game after giving up on it initially. That's awesome of you to not give up on the game but how are you enjoying it right now? Has it lived up to the descriptions and praise we gave you? I'm just curious as how an outsider to this franchise thinks about this game.

Wait till you get to the "Seven Trials", some of those dungeons are awe inspiring and I'd recommend waiting until you're done with most of the fighter's guild quests to start on those. (It's the main quest of the game)

There's also one thing you should probably look up in Game Faqs if you want to be able to deck yourself out with lots of magically enchated equipment: The diseased mudcrab merchant.

You can get too powerful in the game easily, but it's your own choice you know. If you do lots and lots of quests and then do the main quests of course you're probably not going to have a problem. It's like leveling up to Level 99 in a Final Fantasy game at that point.

You can always start over with a different class, rush into the main quests, and you are going to have a hell of a challenge in completing them. The game definitely encourages exploration and walking off the beaten path.

Update!

Yes I found the allusive recipes! They had been sent to ebonheart a small imperial town next to vivec.

I broke into that evidence chest stashed the goods, then paid my fine for breaking in and went back and collected the recipe sheets.

I returned them to the house of haluu were I got a new mission to shut down someone’s egg mine near Suran. I caught the giant bug rider to Suran had a rest in the house of “earthly delights” started my journey to the egg mine.

Well I am starting to enjoy the game a hell of a lot more, it’s hard to appreciate the game when you are hacking at rats with a rusty dagger. The game is also very daunting at first with a very long learning curve.

The world seemed lifeless and generic at first but the more you play the more you get sucked in.

Some Things I like about the game

The architecture and landscapes ranging from the giant toadstools to cities created out of giant crab shells despite the average graphics there have been a few wow moments at the scope of the game.

The leveling up system is great, makes perfect sense.

The level of customization is also great there is a wealth of weapons and amour out there just waiting to be discovered.

So yes I am defiantly enjoying the game, at first it didn’t get anywhere near to my expectations but now it’s met them, It’s a superb RPG that takes a few days to get into and is therefore easily passed up.

I'd rather fight rats than cliff racers, but I know what you mean. The early part of the game is rough, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

Haven't had much of a chance to play since I wrote my last update (had stuff to take care of before work), but I've run into one of the first major challenges since I started. I thought my character was pretty tough, but it turns out not enough. While exploring some Dwemar ruins, I came across the ruins with vampires/slaves while heading off to Urishaku Camp at the northern edges of the map. I remember there was 1 or 2 really tough fights, but the first few were fairly easy and since I needed some raw ebony, I decided to go for it.

My current best weapon (a short sword that does 7-12 damage, plus 3-9 frost damage and casts dire weakness to frost 1-13) does nothing against the vampires since they have magic resistance so the weakness to frost spell doesn't effect them. If I try to go toe-to-toe with them I get killed because they have some sort of lifesteal spell they can put on their weapons and while I'm hurting them (slowly), they are hitting me and taking my health. I don't tend to last very long in those situations. I was able to beat a few of them, but it was by running away from them and hitting them with my steel longbow (1-25 damage) using silver arrows I picked up in Maar Gan. Since my speed is 98 right now, I can outrun them but I can't kill them melee. When I made it to this point the last time I started playing again I don't remember having any issues with them :/ Maybe I need to get some better weapons/armour.

I might just use the invisibility potion I have, look for another 2 pieces or raw ebony and come back to those guys later once I've buffed up a bit (I have been concentrating more on the thieving skills of my character than fighter skills).

You need the ebony for the Thief Guild Mission in Sidrith Mora to convince the Mages Guild to protect the Thief Guild or just need it for something else?

Crow said:

It's for a thieves guild quest. I'm not sure exactly what it's for, I just know that someone wants four pieces of it. It's the second or third one in sadrith mora.

Well the egg mine is out of action; I went back to the fighter’s guild and talked to the guy that I gave the puzzle box too. He then gave me the key for lower reaches of those dwemar ruins.

So I have just returned to the ruins and I am dominating those monsters!

A few questions

- Is there any point in soul gems? Should I sell them?

Also I used that scroll that gives me 1000 agility to jump up to a chest, I opened it and got and Dwemar claymore sweet!, anyway I had to turn my game off so I didn’t save.

When I reloaded the game and opened the chest there was some fire dust in it! So I reloaded my game again and got a Dwemar armor, I want my claymore damit!!!!!

Are the chests random?

1) They're for enchanting items. You cast soul trap on an enemey, and when you kill it, its soul will go into the gem. The harder the enemy the more valuable the soul. You can then take it to an enchanter (or try yourself.. which rarely works) along with with an item you wish to enchant, pick the effect you want blah blah and pay out the ass for it. You can make some game breaker items with them, like constant effect restore health.. Less unfair items are things like constant effect water breathing, water walking, levitation, fortify strength, fortify intelligence, etc.

2) chests are semi random, they are levelled. It randomly selects from a pool of items that are good for your level.

3) don't use those scrolls outside

I had a chance to get some decent playtime in before work today, so I'll throw in my update. Man, I can't even count the number of times this thread has been revived from page 2 or beyond :lol

I managed to clear all the vampires in the Dwemar ruins I mentioned above except for the last tough one that is wearing all glass armour and has some sort of crazy sword. I remember not being able to beat her last game the first time I made it there, so I looted what I could from the rest of the area and left her alone... for now :)

I managed to track down the master trainer for light armour [the skill] in Mar Gaan in the tradehouse there, on the bottom level. I got my light armour skill up to 75, but when I trained 10 times (all I needed to level, since light armour is one of my major skills) I went back to Balmora and trained a few skills (armourer, blunt weapon, heavy and medium armour, long sword) a few times to raise my strength and endurance so when I slept I could raise agility, strength and endurance by 5. I had to repeat this a few times to get light armour to 75, but I figured that should help out quite a bit in surviving more than 5 seconds in melee against some of the baddies I know I'm going to be facing.

I also found a kickass ebony shortsword and as soon as I can get a grand gem and soultrap a golden saint, I'm going to enchant it into something kickass as it already does way more damage than any other sword I've got (that is a shortsword) and it's not even enchanted yet.

I was doing a bit of research to see what the best light armour in the game is as I was still using the chitin armour I found from the beginning of the game as I never found anything better. Turns out that glass armour is the best in the game, but the stuff you get from those ninjas in black that attack you in the Tribunal expansion is second best. Since I haven't installed the expansion yet, I can't get that stuff, so I set off to track down some glass armour. I had to go a ways out off the beaten path to find it, but I found a whole set off the stuff in Ghostgate. There's a guy in the bottom level of the tower that sells the whole set. It's way too damn expensive though, so I got his attention by walking up to him, then positioning him so he was looking at me, with his back to all the armour. I snuck around behind him and thieved it all. Good thing my sneak and security skill are fairly high (72/63 respectively).

That raised my armour from 30 to 100+ - I'm hoping that will help in some of the tougher battles ahead :D

I didn't manage to get any quests done though, all that trudging back and forth and frantic fighting took up too much time. I think once I'm done the blades quest that put me way out in the northern parts of the world in the first place, I'm going to try and hunt down the spells mark and recall so I can cut a huge amount of time out of my travels.

This game delivers :)

Since I've already beat the original game once before, I know I've got at least that much - probably more because I have both expansions now and I haven't played through them yet. Regardless, I'm having a good time.

Yeah, Im playing it through for the third time now with 10 or so differant mods that fix the general game textures as well as model bodies and faces. and replaces the trees.

First time I was a Barbarian
Second a Mage
Third a Theif

finding the theif by far the easiest. Makes it easy to steal whole lot of loot, sell it off, then go mad getting training.

Yet another update!

I reached level 8
I am now using the Dwemar Claymore, two handed weapons rock! I love knocking people down and hacking away.

Plus when I add some enchantments to it this sword will rock.

Got a magic robe that looks blue and reflective, looks awesome on my character

My long blade skill reached 92.

This game ownz me, I am a morrow whore now!

I want to go back and kill an orc warrior at killed me west of balmora over a bridge on the coast, he was wearing a full suit of orc armor and had a two handed sword that hurt.

Sorry to bump this monster but I have a question!

But where can I sell all this glass armor I have, all the merchants are cheap skates!

Now you're at the fun part. You've got two options - one is very accessible and one is very out of the way.

There is a scamp named Creeper in Caldera inside Gnaar (spelling?) Manor (the one with the orcs living in it). He has $5 000 and trades at the items exact worth regardless of your mercantile skill.

Your second option is a talking mudcrab that is very out of the way. If you head north and east from Vivec you'll find some Daedra ruins called Ald Sotha. If you go directly east of them you'll find an island with some Dwemar ruins on it called Mzahnch. The mudcrab is on an island almost right next to Mzahnch on the east side. It's a very small island with a few rocks on it and the island itself is solid rock (no beach or anything else). The mudcrab also barters for full value regardless of mercantile, but has $10 000 in available funds.

This is still way short of a lot of the gear you find, but there is a technique you can use to get full value for your goods. It can take a lot of time and patience, but if you do it right, you will make tons of cash. At this point, if you go hardcore with this technique, it can make the game fairly easy. With hundreds and thousands of cash, you can just train at every trainer to the max fairly easily and end up walking through the game without too much difficulty. If you sort of control how much you do it, you'll be fine, however.

What you need to do is find as many items that sell for $5 000 or $10 000 as you can. Also, collect as many expensive items as possible you can add up to equal even numbers.

Here's how the technique works. Lets use Creeper as an example. He's got $5 000 credits. Lets say you sell one of the right pauldrons I've seen that goes for exactly $5 000. He now has no money, but has your item. Hit the rest key and wait 24 hours. He will now have $5 000 again plus the item you sold him. Buy it back from him. Now he has $10 000. Sell him $10 000 worth of stuff. Since he's out of money, wait 24 hours. Now he's got $5 000 again, plus the $10 000 worth of stuff you sold him before. Buy it all again, now he's got $15 000. I think you get the idea :)

Like I said, it take a long time, but if you sit down and do it for 10-15 mins, you can easily make 100k if you've got enough expensive items. Since most of the items worth a hell of a lot weigh a ton, I'll just drop them on the ground nearby whichever one I'm abusing at the time and when I'm starting to run low later, I'll head back and start again. The most important thing is to keep the cheaper items you can use to get the totals running high again.

That's how it's done, anyway. I've been a bit slacker this game than the last in that regard and I've even sold him a few $12 000 items for $10 000 - I don't care if I'm losing $2 000 because it saves me a lot of time getting it all to add up perfectly so I don't lose anything.

edit: I also finally went into the morrowind ini file and set the flag so I could take screenshots so here are a few which are linked because of size.

This is a view of my character from the front, staged near wolverine hall in sadrith mora.

I'm currently doing the last set of quests for the thieves' guild and I'm starting on the fighter's guild quests in sadrith mora. Once I'm done all quests in both the thieves and fighters' guilds, I'm going to find the unarmoured master trainer and train it nice and high, shelve my glass armour and join the mages guild

Looks like I'm stuck :(

For some reason, I can't complete all the thieves guild quests because it says I need to be the rank of mastermind in order to get more jobs. I've already met the stat requirement and I've done all the available jobs up until this point but I can't advance to do the next one :/

I've done some searching and I found one person who had the same issue I did, but he never got a response to his question on how to fix it. The boards on the official site are down right now.

I guess I'll forget about the thieves guild quests for now. Anyone know if you can use the TES Construction set to edit your rank in a guild? I just need to make my rank mastermind (which it should have been anyway) and I can continue.

The weird thing is that I've done this part probably 4-5 times before and I've never run into this... oh well

Sweet I just got a mission to kill a cult of necromancers I val, sounds fuckin awesome!

Lol I have fully let the main quest slide; I need to find some book I will do it after I kill some necromancers. The side quests are just so much more fun!

Update: My crusader is now level 10 with 100 long sword skill!

Also I don’t think I will exploit the mudcrab I want to play the game honestly.

P.S l

I am about to hook the game up to S-Video in a few days, does it look much better then the standard composite hook up?

First off, how can it be dishonest if it's a part of the game? They put them there for a reason.

Second, how do you feel about the fact that not even halfway through the game you will be regularly picking up items that cannot be sold anywhere near their actual value, not even to the mudcrab or creeper.

The only way to get any money outside of chump change is to sell to the crab. The only way to get the money that you are due for your spoils is to manipulate the crab's inventory.

That's the way they made the game.

Yes, it does, but the best way to play it is with Component cables. The game's engine does quite a bit of AA and on composite this will add to the blutrriness caused by the composite cables' connection.

You'll notice a difference, however with art and color pallete like Morrowind's it prolly will not be real big. Text should improve some.

I was thinking paralyze would be good

Can you add more then one ability?

Paralyze for sure, that is indespensible. Also see about some kinda shock or fire damage or something.

It's been a while since I played, but I know that my character had custom everything and all the equipment had massive buffs to my stats. I went nuts. My character was a god.

I also had rings and belts made with constant speed and levitation spells on them. And I had an amulette or something that equiped magical armor on me, Power Ranger style; but cool as it was it contained no buffs no I didn't use it.

I only got this stuff because I had such an unbelievable amount of money that I could not only afford have these things built, but could pay for the training so I could make them myself. Also had an amulet that summoned a golden saint, which I would hit with a powerful dagger that case soul trap on them, sucking them into that unbreakable soul gem, so I had an unlimited supply of the finest souls for enchanting.

One of the crazy things you can do to make the game a lot easier is to enchant any item you can with continual health regeneration. In order to add continual anything, you'll need to have a grand soulstone with a golden saint in it, but if you get enough items with health regeneration, you can leave your character along while he's being attacked and you won't die

Morrowind is an RPG for real RPG enthusiasts. It separates the wannabe-RPG fans from real fans of "role-playing"

... among people who actually enjoy the RP in RPGs, Morrowind rocks.

Sure, but you're forgetting that for some of us the G is the most important part.

There's nothing wrong with improving the game engine so that it's actually fun to play even if there were no stories to build/freedom to roam. Not that FF does much better of a job, but some of them do.

I suggest you dont cheat. I once create this double handed sword that I called "The Soul Calibur" (how original). I cheated with the mudcrap exploit, so I was able to enchant an incredibly powerful weapon that would paralis e for 10 seconds + poison the victim for 10 seconds, along with boots with a permanent float effect.

It was indeed the ultimate weapon. Nothing could survive a hit or two. Realising that I had created a monster that would destroy the point of the game, I took my magic boot and flew to some place over the ocean, and threw the sword along with the boots in the ocean, along with all the extra money I made, and the rest of my armor! :lol then swam back to the shore. I guess the villagers were surprised to see a wet naked barbarian walking across their village. But somewhere, the weapons and armors that could destroy the world lie at the bottom of the ocean :lol

Too bad we cant create another character that would be in the same environnement, I would create some Dark Elf type guy that would search for the legendary Soul Calibur that is at the bottom of the ocean

HAHAAHAH that was great :lol

Yeah, I could very well see how that would happen. One of the legendary weapons you get later in the game you use to end the game is a HUGE hammer (can't remember the name). I went and trained up my blunt weapon pretty high and used it. For the thrust attack, your character lifts it high above his head and swings down to crush the enemy. With my strength what it was and the damage on the weapon, nothing survived a hit or two. It made the game fairly anticlimactic, but I still had fun. I just spent a lot less time killing the baddies :)

I played a bit of the Tribnunal Expansion and it wasn't nearly as easy however - never did beat it though.

edit: I think I just remembered the name of the hammer - Sunder? not sure, it sounds right anyway

I got the game and have been spending time using mods. It looks a LOT better now with everything I've added to it.

Haven't really started the game yet though; I decided to CHEAT and maxxed out a character, and have been running around killing entire towns off. It's disturbingly fun for now, and when I get bored I'll start playing the game for real. :) With the boosted athletics, I've called my save game "Enter The Matrix."

How do I get that Warcraft Night Elf mod? I can't find it anywhere.

Morrowind is an odd game. It's very difficult to just enjoy the game straight off the store shelf. Theres a couple of things you gotta do to it first. :D

Follow these steps...

1. Make sure you have all patches for the game.
(& Not nessesary, but I HIGHLY reccomend getting the two expansions)

2. GET THE FOLLOWING MODS.
(The original textures/models/heads that that game uses are HORRIBLE. If you want to play this game, you ABSOLUTELY must get the following mods!)

Better Bodies: http://www.rit.edu/~txo8933/mods.html

Better Heads (I forget the URL but I'll will post it later if I can find it)

3. Create a mod that makes Cliff Racers die in one hit. Just mess around with the toolset and you'll figure out how to do this.

4. Some people don't enjoy the fact that like in real life, if you want to walk from one side of the game world to the other, it could take hours. The 'walk' speed in this game is pretty much useless. You'll always use 'run'. So to save you the hassle, mod an item using the toolset to set your speed to something like 200. This speeds up things a lot.

Ah'.... I think that's about it, but you'll definitely want to use the Better Bodies and Better Heads mod!

In addition to that, the game really becomes easy after you build up a power char. I mean, something like a redguard warrior-type can pretty much hack his way through anything(Except Lord Vivec and maybe Dagoth Ur) in the game by level 18.
IF you played Daggerfall, you would note that upon character creation, the system they had in place would make you handicapped with penalties every time you chose to make yourself strong in something. For example, if you chose to make yourself immune to magic attacks, you end up with it being 3x harder to gain in levels. Unforunately with Morrowind, this system of power-and-penalty was dropped. You'll have to balance out your character on your own. I would reccomend bumping up the difficulty as nessesary, limiting what type of what weapons your character practices with, and if you really want to make the game interesting, create your own class and try making unarmored or light armor one of your specialties.

Check out the Better Bodies for while your add it. I was searching them and found this cool mod...

PEH! BAH! MEH! Who needs World of Warcraft?!

EDIT: Oh yeah. I figured I should also mention. If you mod your speed up to something like 200 as well as your athletics stats to something like 200, you can do crazy ass jumps like the Incredible Hulk. Once before, I set both to something like 1,500. I did a running jump, spent something like 5 minutes or so flying through the clouds, and by the time I came back down, I found myself out in the middle of the ocean; turns out, I jumped over the WHOLE island the game world takes place on! I started to get attacked underwater baddies, then I just casted waterwalking, adjusted my stats and jumped all the back to shore. -- This game is crazy like that. IT's what I like to refer to as a fuck-around-game like Vice City. You can waste hours just doing crazy shit! =)
