Does Morrowind ever get fun???

last night my level 11 crusader stormed some nest of magical vampires I got a full set of ebony armor minus the shield and helmet and full set of glass amour with a poison glass long sword.

It’s awesome!

It's very gratifying to read about the love. I'm a HUUUUUGE fan of the Elder Scrolls series. It wasn't too long ago that you would walk into a thread like this and see nothing but hate. Good job, Do the Mario, sticking with it and coming to love it.

Right. I checked there, and checked other Morrowind sites that go much more in-depth than that forum does. I don't know what this mod is called, so I can't find it. :\

Well, I just spent about an hour searching for the mod and had absolutely no luck.

Apparently, it was the exclusive domain of one www.euro-morrowind.com fansite which no longer exists.

Hell, I even found an old GAF thread that discussed that very mod, but that link included therein was also down. Sorry.

Well I have spent the last hour looking for a pic of Mr. Jefferson from South park to go with my new tag.

In the sprit of derailing my own thread you seen one?

I have http://www.mwmythicmods.com/telesphoros.htm in my bookmarks. Oh well. I'm going to reinstall Morrowind tomorrow. Is there a character creator/editor kit out? I must have put over 300 hours in the combined xbox and pc version, and you know, I kinda dont feel like restarting as a weakling again. While its quite fun, started up with a pre-created level 10 character would be naet :D

The Undead 2.2
- Adds 140 new types of undead to the leveled lists of Vvardenfell, Solstheim, and Mournhold Sewers. They appear in tombs and at night and range from level 5 to 200.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD /me rushs to find his morrowind pc cd

Thanks for searching Meijilan...I spent probably more time last night doing the same. ^_^;

You could always boost your stats with console cheat codes. :)

Discharger is there any benefit to wearing light armor?

My charter has 91 strength and I wearing the ebony set but dam glass armor looks a lot cooler!

On a side not after like 11 days of playing the game I swear I am experiencing a thunderstorm for the first time it’s teh scary.

My pooch doesn’t like it.

A cool feature is you can hear the muffled thunder and rain from under water.

What the hell is the correct syntax? all those shit cheat codes sites dont have the corret syntax it seems.

Do The Mario did you ever get the mods from the beginning of the thread? The better bodies and heads mods help the graphics a LOT.

I used the first site that popped up under google (Searching "Morrowind Cheats" IIRC) and the codes at Gamefaqs together to get the majority of the codes. Some of them I could not get working like the flying and level up codes though.

You pretty much just type "player-> (CODE HERE)" to get most cheats working. For example, if you type 'player-> additem "gold_100" 12345' (the quotations on the "gold_100" are required) you get a ton of gold and can keep doing it over and over again. You can max different stats by typing in 'player-> setstrength (number here)' IIRC. Also typing in 'coc' followed by the name of a town warps you there. You can find coc cheats to go to hidden developer areas containing all the games items and such, too. And don't forget that 'tgm' is god mode. :)

I started a new game and did a tiny bit of cheating to get some clothes I wanted and a better weapon, but honestly I'm having much more fun with my maxxed-out cheat character, just roaming around destroying EVERYTHING.

It seems this thread has allready swung past the morrowind hate point but let it be said that It's one of the least enjoyable Xbox games I've ever had the displeasure of playing. After the initial thrill of stealing all the cuttlery in a town was gone I was left with an awful looking game with a wretchedly plodding combat system. This , along with MMORPG's to this day I fail to see how anyone with good taste could possibly eke an iota of enjoyment out of.

Well, thanks to this thread, I decided to play again. Last time i went through the game a wood elf, this time I'm using a regular class, Khajiit, and am going through as a thief. It's been fun, last time I could join the thieves guild, but now I am. Here's a few things I noticed on my last playthrough:

- This game seems to have a running joke about pillows, there's that pillow crazy lady in Balmora and if you look around, you will find pillows throughout the game in odd places. There's also the "Book Of Pillows" with mysterious contents and best of all, A shipwreck with tons of pillows that were on there way to the lady in Balmora.

- I came across some guy who fell to his death from way in the sky. He had a notes about his new spell that lets you jump over mountains and has a few scrolls. Where do I find that again?

- There's a big castle near Tel Vos I think with trees growing through it. In the prison area, I found this strange secret passage and some scattered notes about the guy who discovered it and his partner I think. The last passage is "HE'S HERE!!!!". WTF was up with that?

- In some vocanic, rocky area, I found a bunch of pages from the book History Of The Empire (I think...) scattered about in a long line over a large area. I could never figure out why.

- I could never figure out who killed Tsiya (outside of Balmora). I always just take his stuff and go.

- There is some weird Daedric ruin I found where there is this room where a bunch of characters appear to be having a party and they're non-hostile. I remember you could buy brandy or something off one of them. I don't remember where this was.

Ok I am a bit stuck, I need to find some books from the dissident priests, and one of them is on the floating prison island thing.

I just stormed the island but the guy I was looking for wasn’t among the prisoners

What do I do?

It really is a better experience playing Morrowind on PC. I used to own the Xbox version as well, and playing the PC version has changed my opinion; you really can make the game better through all the mods released. Not just mods for the visuals, but also that expand the game and add new areas, items, and clothing.

Negative i opened all the cells one was empty, do i need to talk to a NPC or something to make him appear?

Not sure, it's been a while since I made it that far

The person you end up looking for is in a room by themself if I remember right - it's in the biggest open room of the place. I could be off, but this is what I remember

As for light armour being better than medium/heavy, not really.

There are advantages/disadvantages to all of them. If all of your armour skills were the same (lets say 50), then the heavy armour would provide the most protection, but weigh the most. Light would provide the least protection, but gives you more space to carry stuff and medium is just in the middle.

You may see a bit less updates from me, sadly I gave in to my roommates demands to buy world of warcraft and since then I haven't touched morrowind

edit: also, did the quest tell you specifically to go up onto the floating temple/island? if it didn't, you probably don't need to go there yet

I remember that one person in the temple sends you up there at one point, but unless she did, you may have gone there early

I got way ahead of myself, the blades needed me to kill some evil priest first, and he gave me corpus disease before he died!

Now I am off to get cured!!

My character is way to powerful for the stage of the game I am at.

After wandering around a bit, you become mega powerful and the main quest is a breeze. Did you pick up those special gloves after you killed that guy who gave you the disease? They are quite useful.

BTW it wasn't Tsiya who was murdered, it was her friend.

I have a full set of ebony armor so i don't need gloves, plus i didn't see gloves on his body maybe it was a random drop?

^^^ The gloves are really useful, they fortify your srength, they are there lying in a coffin. I chose a beast race this time, so I cannot use them... :/

I just wanted to know how everyone is progressing, I've gotten the Amulet Of Shadows (a must if you like thieving, 80% chameleon for 60 seconds with it). Plus I'm decked out in nice, light glass armor. I'm currently trying to become a vampire for a while.

Does it ever get fun? Well, its and MMORPG with no monthly fee and you play it by yourself. Did I mention patching is rare and bugs/broken quests are plentiful?

No... it never gets fun. Fun is being able to play this game to its fullest potential without it crashing. That, at least, would make up for the lack of online multiplayer. Here's hoping Bethesda gets it right with Oblivion (yeah, right)

No I am still playing just became that horator of the 3 major houses and the naverine of 2 of the four tribes.

Spelling?

Trying to do all the fighters and mage guild quests before moving on.

My Crusader is now level 27 and is way too powerful for the quests I get!!!

Just need to stress the fact the game looks SO much better using an S-Video cable rather then composite hooks up. The game looks dare I say beautiful when using an S-video hook up.

It’s definitely the game which graphics have improved the most since getting my new TV.

I posted earlier in this thread that you need to turn up the difficulty about 50%. When you get into the expansions turn it back to 0.

The beast is alive again!!!

I got a few questions???

1. Can I still do house/ Fighters, mage guild quests after finishing the main quest? There is one tribe that hasn’t name me Naverine and I am paranoid that after it happens I won’t be able to do normal quest due to something someone said to me in game.

Update:

I am now level 32 and just had my very own stronghold built!

They mustn’t like me much because it’s on top of a plateau in the middle of no where anyway it has my own underlings in it and I have my own egg mine!

Just need to find some workers for the mine, and cure the infected queen!

Hmm; As far as I know you can do anything after completeing the main quest.

How did you get your own stronghold? I played 200 hours and I can't remember ever doing that?

Did all the house hlaalu quests.

When my rank became “house father” I could build my own stronghold, had to go buy a land deed 5000 gold, and get a construction deed off Duke Dern.

Hopefully I didn't do any house quests because I think once your're a member of a house your stuck there or can you get them to throw you out? Something to do next time I fire up the game. I'll have to look at the faq because I wonder what you get for doing the quests of the other houses.

You can get kicked out of a house, I tried to sleep in the bed of one of the “high up’s” and I got kicked out. Had to pay 500 gold to be allowed back in.

But you can only join one house at a time!

God I love this game.....

Been doing side quests galore, currently having an orc rebuild the shrine of boethia. Was a vampire for a while too.

Thinking of installing this again, I absolutly LOVED This game and played it for at least 300 hours with out even going through the main story once ! :lol :lol Usually just went adventuring looking for items and such, but anyway..

what mods would everyone recommend installing?

Right now I'm using the better bodies and World of faces mod. Also went through the official firemoth mod (be at level 25 or greater when attempting that one.)

Picked up the game today and the only thing I like about it is some of the architecture.

Combat = Boring
Art Style = Shocking
Graphics = Teh suck
Interface = “”
Fun Content = 0
Load times = Don’t go there

I seriously haven’t enjoyed a second of this game after 2-3 hours

When does it get fun? (that’s if it ever gets fun!)

IMO, it never did get fun, so I took that POS of a game back. What a waste of money. Once again, I was duped by hype.
