Any testimonials vouching that this product works. I'm interested in clearing up some small blemishes and blackheads.

The process is too long, but it worked for me I would say, I've heard positive comments from my family.

Didnt work for me. Results are different for everyone but I think you get your money back if it dosnet work. One thing that works for one person might not work for you.

How long? What was your problem?

My problem?

What I mean by long is that you get these three bottles and have to use all of them, rub on the first bottle, wash it off, rub on the liquid (astringent -- Sea Breeze, etc.), then finish it off with a cream that stays on. You're supposed to do this three times a day.

Zit cream is so not

, especially when it's expensive

Use Noxema

i used a proactiv knock-off for 2 weeks and noticed nothing. whether thats because it was a knock-off or not i dont know.

the best medicine i ever, ever used was benzamycin. its prescription only but it worked very very well for me. its been years since i used it though. it comes highly suggested. its topical so nothing gets ingested. if i wasnt poor id go to the doctor and get it myself.

I used a proactiv knockoff for a while on my face and mostly back (I believe it was called Acne Free or something like that) and it seemed to work fairly well.

What I find to work the best is using a benzyl peroxide treatment twice a day (your typical clearasil, oxy cream, etc), and a salicylic acid body wash twice a day; take a good amount of Vitamin B and C every day (I take 500mg each) as well as a Zinc pill (I've read that zinc is good for the skin).

That's what I've been doing for a few months, and my back has been consistently clear of acne for the first time in years.

What do you guys do to get rid of Scars? I've got some mild Scars leftover from an Acne breakout and they don't seem to be fading at all : (

I used it and it worked. But then again it could have been because I was washing my face 1-2 times a day for several weeks straight. Before I would slack off every few days.

Right now, I don't use Proactiv every day, but I do wash my face somewhat thoroughly every day. If I have time I do the whole Proactiv routine, if I'm too tired then I just use the nutragena (sp?) face wash then throw on a little benzyl peroxide from the Proactiv kit (the Repairing lotion) or whatever I have lying around. This seems to work for me. I like to have a plan A and plan B. Just as long as my face gets washed in the end.

www.acne.org

I had some awful fucking skin that was always angry and red on my cheeks. I go to that website and read about the guy's program and what he recommends, then I tweaked it to my own skin type based on the testimonials of the products there.

Proactive's magic bullet is simply Benzoyl Peroxide. There is NOTHING special about it. You can buy Benzoyl Peroxide for cheaper at the drug store. Benzoyl is one of 3 or 4 acne fighting chemicals/compounds and is the one proven to work better than the others for the majority of people.

This is what I bought and did based upon what the guy recommend on the acne.org site...bear in mind my skin was a disaster and is now pretty well perfect.

My shower in the morning...gently finger wash my face with Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser.

Pat my face dry with a towel when I get out of the shower.

Apply BENZAGEL which is Benzoyl Peroxide 5% in gel format to my forehead, chin, cheeks, and nose. Let it sit to dry for 10-15 minutes. DO NOT get it near your eyes! It is irritating as all hell.

With the Benzagel now dry I apply COMPLEX 15 Face moisturizer overtop of the Benzagel that is currently on my face, still staying away from my eyes because I don't want the two to mix and irritate my eyes.

Thats it. I noticed a serious change in 2 days and perfection in 5.

I recommend anyone to check out the site and read what the guy has to say. You don't need to go as hardcore as he does to achieve as good of results as he does.

Proactiv is the only thing that has ever worked for me personally. Although, I agree with Demi that it does take awhile. There are three items you have to use: Cleanser, Toner and Lotion. There is also an Oil Controller that can be used in place of the Lotion if you don't really have a tendency for your skin drying out or have your own lotion that you would like to use. When you first start using Proactiv, there is also a type of mask that you put on and wash off that helps to eliminate the majority of your pimples. After that, the Proactiv manages your face so that you don't get anymore and there isn't really a need for the mask.

I think the reason that most people give up on Proactiv is that they expect to just get a bottle of something they use in the morning and never get pimples again. There is no such thing as a "cure" for acne and the best you can do is help to manage it. The only times I have ever gotten pimples since using Proactiv are the times when I have skipped using it for a day or two. Other than that, as long as you stick with it, you're really not going to have a problem with acne anymore. Once you go off it however, your pimples are bound to come back. Success also depends on using all of the items instead of just one.

When you're no longer getting new pimples, your skin has the chance to start healing on it's own. The Toner and Lotion also help to fade scarring as well. I suppose that it also depends on your skin type, though. Most of my scars faded over time, but I still have one or two light ones that you can see if you are close up to my face.

I got Chickenpox recently and some of it left scars, but they are already starting to fade. If you're in your 20's like me, then your skin does the job of eliminating most scars on it's own so long as it isn't inflamed by dealing with something else (like constant outbreaks of even more pimples). The first step you can take against scars is to prevent new scarring from occuring.

Doesn't get rid of blackheads better than any other facewash.

For the occasional blemishes, just use the lotion(or the free mask) on the affected spots. They are great for getting rid of pimples fast. Applying the lotion all over the face(as well as using the other two steps of the kit) will often dry out the skin. Not really worth it if the problem is very minor.

It does work for acne though. I gave all the extra cleansers/toners/lotions they keep sending me, to a cousin with serious acne problem and extremely oily skin. The problem improved in less than a week.

Did you guys see the new commerical with Puff Daddy?

"Yo I can't have no bumps on my face... proactiv took care of that." :lol

I know a bunch of people that have used it and they all said the same thing - it works incredibly well for the first few months, then it just stops working and you start breaking out again.

Well Benzoyl Peroxide is supposed to never stop working on the skin as acne bacteria doesn't get used to it over time. Perhaps they stopped following the program as rigourously as they should be. When I've slacked off from mine I've had lighter breakouts. Best to keep it going every day.

Once again, the tried and true over-the-counter method for treating acne is a combination of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, along with the right vitamins as I pointed out. That's really the only thing that fully cleared up my back, and made the occassional zit on my face even more occassional.

I myself like using Zapzyt out of all the benzoyl peroxide products myself. It's pretty cheap, it's 10% BP, but most of all it's the only one I've found that actually disappears when you rub it on your skin easily.

Accutane is also serious hardcore shit, fucks with your skin quite a bit before it starts working, and is potentially damaging to your liver. But if your acne is really bad and nothing else works, I guess it's worth it.
