Just got burnout 3 today, not a bad game but

That announcer!!

He is so god dam try fuckin hard, there is some good music in the game but I don’t want some 14 year old sounding “homeboy”/wigger pissing me off with his lame jokes and try hard wigger speak!

I am turning him off first thing, when I next turn the game on!!

You stop looking at me, I will kill you I will kill all of you!!!!!!!!!
 
Yeah... Stryker was annoying as hell... I turned his sorry ass off after the first couple of races. Nothing he said had any relevance, whatsoever.

Granted, he makes a little more sense than Ridge Racer V's announcer (cue "roo-kies" and "com-fort"), but he's more annoying.

Thank goodness for custom soundtracks, too.

My wife and I were just talking about that jerk.

He's a DJ here in LA for KROQ. When he first got his job callers gave him shit because he shares a name with the gay porn star Jeff Stryker.

Anyone figure out how to get the Xbox BO3 to save your audio settings? I'm tired of having to set audio tracks to custom every time I boot up.

Fuck EA Trax in the ear.

You can't. It sucks, but it becomes habit to just go in and change it first thing after starting the game up.
 
Ahaha. I turned him off before I even played a race. I've actually never even heard what he sounds like.

Whoever had that bright idea - and you KNOW Criterion most likely had it enabled to save audio settings before EA stepped in with their marketing crap - should be taken out back and beaten about the head and shoulders with a nail studded 2x4.

You do realize the term "wigger" is racist, right? It confers legitimacy upon the term "n*gger," as it supposes a white who emulates what he/she deems "black" is a white "n*gger." I think "wigger" is no less disparaging than the term "n*gger." I'd appreciate you refraining from its use, in the future.
 
The annoucer lasted all of half of a track with me, then he was shut off and never heard from again.

Great game though.
 
Can you believe the announcer of the french version is even more annoying ? I played both english and french versions and the french announcer (Starman, even the name screams for blood) made me want to kill the first living being I'd see.
And worst of all, the guy doing the announcer voice had a voice in Halo 2. At least there I had the joy to kill him myself, even if he was on my side of the war :D

No. There's a lot of really good fucking bands on it. I still can't believe they got the motherfuckin' BURNING BRIDES IN THAT BITCH! The Brides are the best band ever.

He's from Australia. The same sensitivities to the word nigger aren't shared in all cultures.

Just played using the TOPGUN soundtrack, made the game like 10X better, nothing like causing a massive pile up to you’ve lost the loving feeling.

The only problem is I can only have one of my customs soundtracks playing at once, is there anyway to make the music shuffle between my soundtracks?
 
I'm probably in the minority here, but I had no problem with the announcer. You really only hear him on the map screen, at the beginning of a race, and in between switching songs, so he's not that annoying. Also, he occasionally gives hints on where to get Signature Takedowns.
 
I loathe the announcer and evey piece of music that came w/ the game. The very first thing I do when I boot up is handle the EA trax and get my music to play. Makes the game 1000 better.

I feel sorry for the PS2 BO3 owners.

Cultural sensitivities notwithstanding, the term "wigger" is a play off the slur "n*gger," the connotations of which have ALWAYS been disparaging. It's an unambiguously racist term. There's no debate to be had here, dude.

Wrong nobody else was offended by the term, it was not used in a racial vilifying manner. The term “Nigger” or “Wigger” is contained in many movies, televisions shows, and books, magazines why don’t you get off your moral high horse and start complaining about people who actually use it as a racial slur.
 
I think it is the same guy who did the radio jocky thing for SSX3. I really liked him there as well as the selection of music as it seemed to fit with the sort of ambience in that game.

In Burnout 3 is just seems really tacked on. Worst part of Burnout 3 is that it forces you to watch that unskippable how to play the game movie that is the same except for its title when starting a different mode.

I really hate EAs influence in the game. I can tell some exec wanted all the aftertouch shit. Is there something in the regular gameplay that DOESN'T give you boost power? I really don't like how you can use the boost meter even if it isn't full. That decision alone destroys the risk and reward design on Burnout.
 
Stryker is a fucking moron. He fills in for Adam Carolla on LoveLine sometimes, and I seriously want to throw my clock radio across the room on those nights.

Actually, I'm inclined to agree with XS+ on this one.

First, even though you personally might not find it offensive, the term MEANS "white guy who tries to act stereotypically black," and I can understand why someone would be offended by the implication that all black people act like Stryker. (Hell, I don't think ANYONE wants to identify with that punk, regardless of color.) Second, the fact that a term is used by a lot of people in public or private forums doesn't make it acceptable in this one, or anywhere.

So, I expect you'll refrain from using in the future. Thanks.

It's pretty ironic that the people making fun of him would even KNOW the name of a gay porn star. I guess they just watch gay porn for the story.
