Wow, those screenshots look like the Nintendo Bullshots!
I just tried Mario Galaxy outputted out to my 720p TV with a 4x native resolution. . . . OH MY GOD! :O It looks better that New Super Mario Bros U.

Now that's an understatement, if ever I saw one.It looks better that New Super Mario Bros U.![]()
Err, overclocking your CPU by ~5% isn't going to result in a 500% performance increase. You obviously had something else holding your performance back that you fixed.
No, AFAIK it'll still show up in your usage history. Not really any way around it.1. Can you uninstall the Homebrew Channel?
By that I mean completely uninstall, basically resetting the Wii to standard settings for the firmware it's on. No trace left, at all.
Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happens. Your legitimate files are transferred. The HBC is not.2. If you cannot completely remove the Homebrew Channel, what happens if you try a Wii->Wii U transfer?
I plan on getting a Wii U at some point, and would like to transfer everything over when I do. But if I install the Homebrew Channel, will that cause any trouble with that? I really don't want to lose my Brawl savegame to a transfer bug...
Well, I got the Homebrew Channel installed and a couple of games ripped. I assume that's okay to talk about in this thread since I used the tool linked in the OP.
I picked Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Viewtiful Joe as my test games. Fire Emblem because I like it, and Viewtiful Joe because I kind of want to see that in a higher resolution, if my PC permits it.
Which turns out might be an issue unless I can find some spare horsepower somewhere. I can get Fire Emblem to run, but the audio is popping. I try to sync the game to audio, and then the game slows down. So... yeah. It looks pretty good, though. There are a lot of neat details on the character models that are hard to see on a real Gamecube. It'd probably solve my problem if I could just tell Dolphin to skip a few frames and just keep up with the sound. I mean it's Fire Emblem, going lower FPS isn't exactly going to make it less playable. Breaking up the music with pops kind of does.
Viewtiful Joe, well, it starts, but I need to figure out how to use the 360 controller for this before trying more. And it's only 4/5 compatible, so... maybe it was a bad pick.
By the way, if it possible to change disks mid-game in this? I was thinking of trying out Tales of Symphonia, but it's a two-disk game. Also haven't checked if it's compatible, come to think of it...
But first, I want to go for Fire Emblem, see if I can get that to look and run decently.
EDIT: Found the frameskip option. Fire Emblem runs like a champ now. Except for that fog. Looks like a whiteout, the transparency is just completely off. That could be a problem as it looks like that's a known bug in all Dolphin builds newer than 3.0.645.
I wish there was a mod for Skyward Sword that 1. Got rid of the HuD and 2. Dramatically cut back on Fi popping up and giving advice, and on the messages that come up when you pick up monster loot.
I can dream can't I?
You can do that stuff with Gekko codes. Fi won't pop up to tell you to get hearts or change your batteries, and the item messages are a one time only thing. I'm not 100% on the HUD thing, but I don't see why not.
It's insane how much more fun the game is without those little annoyances.
All Beautiful. Gotta love the clean IQ. Twilight Princess can look pretty muddy but I forget that GC games didn't have as much disc space to work with though.Yup, we decided to take it down for legal reasons.
Uploaded it to my personal site, though.
Xenoblade Chronicles
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Skyward Sword
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Hmm, it's been a few years since I played Fire Emblem, so I can't remember each map. There's that one where you defend the Mercenary Fort at night, but I don't think it has Fog of War. So you're probably right. You can check "disable fog" in graphics and it'll be fine. You'll lose some atmosphere, but I don't think there are any fog of war maps in FE9 anyway.

Could you post the settings you used for each of these videos? Awesome videos btw!

This is incredible, but I just tried it and ticked the ones I want (remove hud, no messages etc) and it didn't work. The HUD one says press left/right on the dpad to toggle it but that didn't do anything.
I put the codes in on the Wii, so I'm not exactly sure how to do it in Dolphin, but I know it's possible... Hmm, maybe there is a guide somewhere?
Has anyone been able to get the newly discovered AR codes for F Zero GX working yet?
edit: works like a charm!
followed these instructions.
confirmed to work for NTSC version as well (with appropriate codes)
Unfortunately, that laptop won't be fast enough for your requirements.Would the specs be able to handle Dolphin in any manner? Like even things set to minimum and 720p as the "highest" possible resolution while maintaining a smooth frame rate of 30-60?
Really just wanting to play Melee and Brawl on the thing, and maybe play other games in my collection (Wind Waker, F-Zero, Skyward Sword, Mario Kart Wii, Sonic Colors, etc)

Does Silent Hill Shattered Memories and Overlord work on Dolphin? Cause I recall the Wii version of Overlord was very good looking.
It is. It's called Overlord Dark Legend and it's a prequel to them.Is the Wii Overlord a different game because Overlord 1 & 2 have native PC versions.
Which APU? Number of cores and frequency? So how well would an APU handle Dolphin? I'm thinking of building a small Emubox to keep hooked up to my TV. I'd be rendering at 2x internal resolution, no AA, 4x AF fullscreen 720p.
Xenoblade is a dual-layer DVD (around 8,497,659,904 bytes large). It firsts goes to a letterboxed white screen and then it go to all black and does nothing from there. I thought it was a problem (and it turned out to be) an issue with my rip (I was using max chunks on a fat32 drive which I read is a no-no), so I ripped it again with 2 gb chunks and used the copy command to combine the .iso parts.
Dolphin does utilize more than 2 cores, but only when you're using the LLE back-end. Otherwise it uses 2 cores.Which APU? Number of cores and frequency?
Anywho, probably not all that well, as dolphin doesn't take advantage of more than 2 cores and it needs high frequencies.
Right-click the game in Dolphin and click on "Open Wii save folder". Copy the contents, go to your other Dolphin build, do the same, and paste the saves there.I've been emulating Xenoblade pretty much perfectly except some audio crackling that happens every now and then.
Found the HLE patched Dolphin, but not sure how to export my Xenoblade save to the new Dolphin directory. Copying "...\User\Wii\title\" didn't seem to read any of the saves.
Any ideas?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong (this is the first time I've attempted to use Dolphin), but I can't get Xenoblade to load. Can someonw tell me what their file size of their completed XB iso is? My settings are exactly what I've seen here and on the dolphin emu forums.
My machine is a i7 2700k 3.4Ghz, 8 GB ram, GTX 580.
Edit: I think it's a problem with my rip, but I've done it 3 different times now with the same results. I can't see to find the verification on redump.org to know for certain, but the verification inside Dolphin gives me an error when I check partition 1. (right click on game, properties, filesystem, right click on partition 0 and check file integrity).

Need help: was playing a game with my xbox 360 controller, took a bathroom break and returned to "Communications with the Wii Remote have been interrupted" message. I'm guessing my controller fell asleep.. The thing is though inputting buttons isn't removing the message. Whats the fix?
oh awesome alt+f5 did something to fix it.
Is it worth trying other older revisions to see if it helps any or am I out of luck?
EDIT: Its revision 3.5-367 (latest official download on the site).
Found a revision that fixes the sound issues but I'm still getting a lot of slowdown. I've tried knocking settings down left and right but none of it is helping unfortunately.I would check to see if there was a version specifically proven for use with RE4 ... I know when I used the latest version of Dolphin for REmake I had several glitches so had to roll it back to an older version.
Which APU? Number of cores and frequency?
Anywho, probably not all that well, as dolphin doesn't take advantage of more than 2 cores and it needs high frequencies. then again I've never used it, I just lurk emulation forums because I like the official reverse engineer tech talk so other members here should be more in the know.
Here is a SweetFx shot from a bit farther in the game. Might be a bit too dark but I still think it looks great. Love the glowy lava :O
Huh... I'm having an amusing performance issue. Maybe some of you can help?
I'm playing Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and it runs way too fast. Like 110 FPS. Messes up the sound something fierce and the game runs at 190% speed. Well then... that seems like an easy problem to solve, no? "Config -> Framelimit: 60", right? Wrong. If I set a framelimit, be it 60, Auto, or Audio, the game performance just tanks and runs at 25 FPS or less than half speed.
So, how do I get this to hit "just right"? Can I tell Dolphin to never run a game faster than 100% speed somehow? I don't care much about rendering speed here, but I really would like the game to stay consistent in the 98-102% speed area.
I figure some of you have done more setup with Dolphin than I have, so you have any idea? All I really want is a "Max speed: 100%" option...
I'm running version 3.5-367 if that helps. If needed, I'll provide screenshots of my options screens, too.
