Thanks sooo much. I remember hearing about a patch or something that makes the HUD not blurry and low-res, anyone got that working?
You should be able to run most games at fullspeed without a problem.EatChildren said:i5 2500K

What kind of performance would I get out of Dolphin?

Don't even bother. That hardware wouldn't even be able to render NSMBWii's title screen.-PXG- said:How about:

TheExodu5 said:For those here asking about Dolphin with a 2500K: it's essentially the best CPU you could possibly run Dolphin with. However, to get full benefit, you will absolutely want to overclock.
A 2500K at 4.6GHz should be about double the speed of a Core 2 Duo at 3.0GHz, which is really damned fast.
The wireless usb dongle it came with.Crunched said:What are you using to connect your controller?
I dunno then. Is it being recognized at all inside Windows? Should work immediately.Heavy said:The wireless usb dongle it came with
Yeah I play other PC games with it fine wirelesslyCrunched said:I dunno then. Is it being recognized at all inside Windows? Should work immediately.
What do you mean "wired in"?
Try a different build. Don't know what the problem is.Heavy said:Yeah I play other PC games with it fine wirelessly
I can't even get a profile to show in that bar next to the Load Save Delete buttons. It's just empty and nothing happens when you click LoadCaptainAhab said:I downloaded the 360 controller profile in the op but I have no idea how to load it. There's a place to load, save and delete profiles if I click on the GCPad button in Dolphin but no matter what I do all of the buttons stay mapped to the keyboard. Any ideas?

Heavy said:I'm trying to test this thing out and confirm it works with the 360 wireless controller for me but it's just not detecting it.
What am I doing wrong here? The Wiimote.ini file is saved correctly in dolphin/user/config. Thanks for any help.
His controller isn't being detected though, I'd say that indicates a different problem. Why would the .ini stop him from being able to use the controller at all?Nabs said:Make your own config. I don't even know if wiimote.ini is used anymore. It takes about 20 seconds to do.
Pandoracell said:Does Dolphin work like ePSX (and probably other PS1 emulators) in that I can just put the game in my optical drive and play directly from that, or will I have to rip them into ISOs with a hacked wii first?
There are only a few specific models of LG optical drives that can directly rip Wii games to your PC... since they're so hard to find now, the most common method is to rip games to a USB drive with a softmodded Wii.Pandoracell said:Does Dolphin work like ePSX (and probably other PS1 emulators) in that I can just put the game in my optical drive and play directly from that, or will I have to rip them into ISOs with a hacked wii first?
Install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii and use USB Loader to rip your games to a hard drive. Use Wii Backup Manager to convert wbfs files to iso's for use with Dolphin.
AceBandage said:You'll have to rip the game from your Wii. 99% of DVD drives don't have the ability to read GC/Wii discs.
ExMachina said:I was going by posts I remember reading way earlier in the thread... thus the IIRC.I've never seen anyone mention playing through the Metroid Prime games in Dolphin here. According to other communities the separate versions work in Dolphin, but only reach decent framerates with some serious hardware. The MP Trilogy doesn't work at all due to having multiple dol's on the disc.
I'd check how my 2500k fares with the Metroid Prime games, but I don't have any of my GCN/Wii discs available to rip at the moment. Any other Gaffers who jumped on the SB CPUs wanna give it a try?

Just rip your GC disc. It won't work off MPT. You can still do 1920x1080, but the widescreen hack will cause some pop in. Otherwise it's fine.

EDIT : actually, thank you to have brought this very point on the table. I forgot to check MP1 playability on the Dolphin Wiki but it looks like MP1 got a 4-star rating, meaning that it has small issues but nothing preventing players to finish the game. I can breathe again.
