Still waiting for that pivot.

Donald Trump this weekend defended longtime friend Roger Ailes, the ousted chief executive of Fox News who is accused of sexually harassing at least two dozen women. Trump also questioned the motives of some of the women.

"I can tell you that some of the women that are complaining, I know how much he's helped them, and even recently. And when they write books that are fairly recently released, and they say wonderful things about him. And now, all of a sudden, they're saying these horrible things about him," Trump said in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" on Saturday evening. "It's very sad because he's a very good person. I've always found him to be just a very, very good person. And, by the way, a very, very talented person. Look what he's done. So I feel very badly."

"Let's not try to distract from this DNC/DWS story by throwing support for an accused sexual preda..."

If you read his transcripts in Arnold Schwarzenegger's fresh off the boat accent it makes perfect sense.

I think this is a money-grab.

Donald needs money to advertise himself against Hillary's millions.

Ailes just happens to be one of those really rich dudes that Donald needs. So, you can put one and one together...

I really hope that we soon get to a point where Donald Trump's defense of someone is an association that only makes them look more guilty.

I can't remember, but not even Bush was this bad at the English language, right?

He speaks like he's a kindergartener. "I feel very very sad. I feel very very bad." Maybe Trump is just a terrible public speaker.

Bush was folksy and likable at a time, and I thought Bush was rumored to be dyslexic so at least there's a reason.

Isn't that like the whole point of sexual harassment? These creepy men think they are owed sexual favors because they helped a woman out in her career? Fuck Trump.

I don't believe this has any effect on women supporting Trump. If they think his normal behavior is fine then they are just as likely to believe the accusers are doing it for money.

Seeing all of the evangelicals at the RNC supporting Trump and claiming he is a man of Christ has shown me that Trump supporters back him regardless of his actions.

Yep.

Teflon Don. He could shoot someone in the street and his supporters will say that the guy had it coming.

Not surprised, not just that he is a shitbag that will defend shitbags, but on a deeper level it's a strike back at the fact that the accusers are also the very same but small demographic of the right wing propaganda machine Fox in particular that has at times questioned trump.

You know he has been looking for any excuse to stick it to Megyn Kelly again, and not in the way he would really like.

Maybe we should start calling him the 'Teflon comb-over'.

Because fucking nothing sticks to him. I see so many stories about him now, that I don't even care anymore. It just further solidifies the fact that's he's a humongous dick.

Trevor Noah explained it well last week on his show. It's a train that keeps barreling forward and stops for nothing. It moves too quickly for people to stop and smell the shit.

Things that would normally stop other candidates dead in their tracks just bounce off him, because before people have time to react, he's on to the next thing.

It seems to be an extremely deliberate tactic and it's scary how well it has worked.

I'm surprised about this, and what it indicates to me is that Ailes and Trump have come to some agreement about a future working relationship... Because 9 months ago, Trumps enemy #1 was Roger Ailes.

I mean...seriously. I want to say he definitely doesn't want to be President, but at the same time he doesn't want Hilary to be President either. I don't even know what to think.

Its crazy right? You think he would just be sitting back while Hillary is dealing with all this DNC stuff, but no, he just keeps opening his big mouth because he loves hearing himself speak so much.

I'm... just...

Like, everytime I'm slightly afraid that Trump might actually be competent enough at running a campaign to get elected President, he does something like this.

He never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
