Chuck Todd has interviewed Donald Trump many times, and he’s noticed something somewhat disquieting about the unquiet president-elect.

The man doesn’t laugh — not in a normal, spontaneous, regular-human kind of way.

“[It] drives me crazy. Do you know what? I’ve never seen him laugh,” the “Meet the Press” host told me during an interview for POLITICO’s “Off Message” podcast earlier this month. “I challenge somebody to find him laughing, and that person has yet to find an example, in my opinion. He’ll smile, but he smiles appropriately. Watch him at the Al Smith dinner [the roast in New York City in October] ... He doesn’t really laugh. He looks for others to laugh. It is just weird.”

So this article is about a week old, but I just listened to the podcast episode now and it's kinda jaw dropping. For all the footage of Trump, it's true that I have never seen him genuinely laugh.
 
I hate the man but this seems super picky, I know a few people like this. It's not that weird to just smile instead of laugh a lot.

he might of laughed in his interviews with howard stern maybe. although many of those interviews were over the phone.
 
He's a demon! I have heard from a good source, this is a true story folks, but I have it on good word that Trump smells like sulfur.
 
This seems kind of silly. If I sit and think about it a huge percentage of public figures I can't remember seeing laugh.

Outside of Tom Cruise I'd say most celebrities I wouldn't be able to remember a genuine laugh video.
 
I remember watching his roast on Comedy Central years ago and the dude was pretty much stone faced throughout the entire thing. Only ever really cracking a short smile if the roaster started egging him on.

think of all the other photos we have catching presidents/candidates just guffawing at something. For all the TV appearances and photos of Trump, there is not one like that.

yeah, I came in to say this. He laughs a lot during those interviews. And when he isn't laughing, you can hear in his voice that he is quite amused.

the Howard Stern Show is his type of atmosphere and humor, though. He loves dat crude locker room talk™.
 
GAF is slowing down -- I expected this thread a week ago.

Chuck Todd overthinks things a bit too much. Trump laughs, but only when he's caught off guard by something. Otherwise, he stays in control -- its how he manages his image. I doubt he's this way in private.
 
You know, articles like this doesn't help to starve the narrative on the right that the media shits on Trump for the most trivial of things.
 
Its been said he casts no reflection in mirrors, either. Who did we make a deal with here?
