Donald Trump threatens 3rd party bid

I can see why Liberals would want Trump to run. It used to look like Clinton would win in a slam dunk, but some current polls and her rather high disapproval rating make that less certain.

Honestly, Clinton should be destroying the Republicans in the polls especially since the GOP is in disarray right now. The fact she isn't should concern Democrats in my opinion.

No it doesn't. People always 'come' home and galvanize the closer you get to election day. Clinton's numbers will fall and correct itself.

This point is moot anyway, Hillary is still obliterating every single GOP candidate. Her numbers have been very stable since the beginning. It's probably because she is a known brand from the last 20+ years.

First of all, you're confusing disapproval with favorability. What is there to disapprove of when she's not currently in any position of public service? Second of all, I have yet to see a single string of polls that shows her being beaten by any of the candidates.

This is missing a brand new poll that shows similar results.

Trump is so comical he might as well be an MGS character now, where he's the bad guy who's actually secretly a good guy but is even more secretly a bad guy but is actually doing it for the right reasons so that makes him a good guy but was being manipulated by a bad guy but was blissfully unaware of it all, which made him a good guy in the grand scheme of things.

I really hope it's something like that.

NANOMACHINES TONS OF MONEY

We can have multiple parties. Nothing in the rules say you can't and there are independents in Congress. Just doesn't happen but nothing about the current system is permanent. The Democrats and GOP haven't been around since the beginning and they won't be around forever.

Seriously. If he runs, it kills every argument Clinton backers have against Sanders. Sanders definitely wins in a Trump - Bush - Sanders configuration.

Not exactly. Clinton appeals to more moderates who, in this conflagration, would likely stay home, giving Bush another court appointed victory.

There are actually people who prefer Hillary over Sanders for actual reasons, not just as a Anyone But GOP choice.

Not too familiar with Trump, why are people speculating that he may be a secret democrat? Jokingly or not.
Because if he runs in the general he blows up the GOP and Hillary cakewalks to a win.

The Boss we need.

If this ever happened this would force the GOP to embrace the Far Right even more next Election Cycle. That would be the end.

It will end regardless. They will either stick with the dwindling Old White Man demographic to the grave, or decide to put forth sensible candidates to fight for the middle ground but suffer the growing pains of losing many elections in the process, because the Old White Man will stop supporting the GOP and maybe form some extreme 3rd party. Either way, they lose votes that they need.

So Republicans can give him token support and attempt to let him play and it damages the party, or they ostracize him, and hope he really does not run 3rd party.

Folks, this is what happens when you use xenophobia and racism as a means to mobilize support for your party.

Edit: This could also speed up the implosion of the Republican Party, which could be good news for the long run of the party. It could also cause a shift to a 3 party system...

I'd rather have Jesse Ventura be the third party candidate, but he wouldn't be able to get the funds to be able to be viable...unless he gets Stern to fund his campaign.

The whole Chris Kyle BS also hurt him because the right basically slandered his name with misinformation to the point where I don't think he could win.

What grave? Have you seen the house and senate lately? how about the congressional makeup of most states? They lost the presidential election the past 2 time, but that has more to do with the fact that they nominated a crazy old man and a soulless robot.

If you guys really think the GOP can't win on their current platform with a charming, charismatic candidate you are absolutely deluding yourselves and placing way too much faith in the American electorate. This country elected GWB twice.

We elected GWB once. And the fact that they win during midterms will keep them on the same course they're on while demographics change more and more in favor of the Democrats.

2014 had the lowest turnout in 72 years. The GOP sees years like 2010 and 2014 and thinks they are doing fine, then when a larger turnout electorate shows up they wonder why they lost.

Looks like some Republicans are desperately flailing about in an attempt to use these comments as a way to get him out of the first debate:

It should just be Trump and Cruz. Trump would intentionally make increasingly offensive statements, ending the night with an insult to Cruz' background, just to see if Cruz would still be a 'big fan'.

He's the hero USA deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll mock him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a loudmouth guardian. A watchful protector. A Fair-haired Knight.

Actually he could be both, it all depends on how it plays out.

Trump should pick Ann Coulter as his VP. That way it becomes a true hate party, and she finally becomes a DC insider like she always wanted. That and Trump will feel like he is getting the female vote too.

This is pretty funny but my gut tells me Trump is just riding some media attention at the moment. He won't get the Republican nomination and he won't be popular enough to get his name on the ballot as a third party.

Like she'd ever join the ticket of the guy that wants to give people healthcare.

Trump running third party would probably get the Democrats to allow a third party candidate at the debates for the first time since Perot.

Haha this is honestly the one way I think Bernie Sanders could legitimately win.....He isn't getting the nomination but if he did I think it would actually be pretty lopsided.
