Anyone been playing this?
I bought it on Friday, but the only modes I'd been playing were Street Performance and some of the Mini Games (I like Barrel Race
, but what's with mini games costing score/points to play?! 50 points a game for single player, 100 for multiplayer. It's not bad or anything, just a bit of an interesting move)
Today I tried Challenge Mode in Solo and did "6-songs/set"... basically 6 songs in a row. Your life gauge fills up or depletes at the end of each song depending on your performance. When it's empty, it's game over. After the first 5 tracks, which are all around Monkey/Chimp difficulty - he last track is "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", which I understand is available on the US game, but it isn't available in the PAL version simply by starting the game. I was surprised as hell to see it on here, it's not listed on the game's tracklist. When you finish, Dixie Kong says something like: Did you hear na na hey hey? You can hear this by beating the challenge modes, now don't you feel as though you've achieved something?
I immediately tried "12-songs/set" to see if there were more songs like this but had my ass handed to me harshly. I'll be able to do it, but I'm gonna have to take a break - hands are killing me.
The thing is: when you go and do a normal street performance game or whatever, the new song isn't actually unlocked. Does anyone know if these can only be played in Challenge Mode or can you unlock them by doing "12 set" and "full set"?
