Okay...you know it's the end of a system's life when they announce like 3-5 mascot based titles so quickly.
You could also say that these surprise titles indicate Nintendo are trying to give decent support to the GC until the Revolution hits, rather than leaving a depressing empty void for the system's last year or two.

I'm loving the first one. I just hope they add simple additions like being able to enter your name in for high scores and maybe a stats page detailing total amounts of correct beats and stuff like that.

Hey, whatever happened to that smiley with the rolling eyes? I need it right now

If it weren't for the DS, these games would clearly have been announced already. So, it's great news for Nintendo and the GC, showing they still care about the platform.

Next game will be Mario Party 7. :lol

You should be banned, simply for being an idiot.

Uhhh...wait, was that taken as negative? I didn't say it was a bad thing. I'm simply saying that they seem to be looking into their back catalogue to find what they haven't gotten to yet, and taking existing concepts and expanding them. I think it's great,

Do we even have a song list for the second? Has it been released in Japan yet? :lol

Months ago, yeah. There was a pretty detailed impressions thread at the time.

Nice to see Fire Emblem theme in there, but honestly putting only 3 game songs in each DK is really weak. Nintendo has a massive catalog of some of the best game music of all time, they should really be giving us a nice selection in each Donkey Konga. Stuff like "Can't Hurry Love," which has already been in about 10 other rhythm games, isn't really cutting it.

Konga 2 definitely beat the shit out of the first one as far as playability is concerned. I'm hoping Konga 3 can do the same. And I wonder if that Fire Emblem theme is the same one present on Band Brothers for DS?

Rocky's Theme (...Eye of the Tiger?) and Samba De Janeiro = win. Still way too focused on J-pop though... I'd like to see theme discs with more Latin songs.

Fun fact: the lyrics to the song "Tokio" were written by Earthbound creator Shigesato Itoi.

For everyone saying Nintendo is whoring Donkey Konga.

Wake the fuck up, it's a music game. You know how pissed anyone who bought the original would be if Nintendo didn't follow up on it? It's mainly because we have bongos, but not many games to play them on.

Just like DDR, just like Beatmania, just like any of those games :rolleyes!

I can see DKC3 releasing on GBA alongside this in Japan. It all makes sense......
That'll make 4 DK GBA games and 4 DK GC games in the space of about 2 years. Pretty impressive considering how little DK had been used in the last few years before that.

Actually, it's 6 GBA games (Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Donkey Kong - King of Swing, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and NES Classics Donkey Kong). Not counting all the GC cameo games (Mario Kart, Golf, Tennis, Baseball).

I have to wonder whether they'll offer Bongos with these games, still.

I mean, I expect they'll still offer Bongos with Jungle Beat, at least. Maybe, if they both sell well enough, they can stop bongo inclusions with Donkey Konga 2. If not, they keep bundling bongos. Should be interesting to see how they work this.
