Got Donkey Konga last night...

oh

my

god

Namco, I love you guys, but you really need to come out with expansion packs in the US (I heard the Jap ones weren't FreeLoader Friendly) fucking now, with more minigames and songs.

The Impression That I Get >>>> *

Love it, guys! Love it!

For a second, i was expected that to see pics of that nude Spiderman at a Nintendo event playing DK. i'm glad that wasn't the case, but at the same time, i'm somewhat disappointed.

If you're not in Europe import the PAL version. I play both the US / PAL versions interchangably with Freeloader... no problems whatsoever.

The Smash Bros Theme is godly. As are a lot of the PAL specific songs.

Which version of Freeloader? I'm assuming I'll have to buy a new one, because the last one I bought was when I imported Soul Calibur II the Easter before release.

Yay for Space Channel 5!
oh wait.. this is about Donkey Konga

I might pick that up one day

Taiko>Konga

Eh, I'd agree, but the fucking drums on Konga spoiled me. So much easier. At E3, Taiko > Konga because I think the Taiko drums weren't so damned hard to hit. Taiko has a better overall song selection, though.

And Matlock... Donkey Konga 2 (expansion pack, basically) is coming out sometime next year.

Eh? What's wrong with it? (got it as a gift via that Wal-Mart online sale)

Other than...I'm guessing loading times, but they don't bother me all that much.

The only problem with playing the JP version through Freeloader if you don't have a Japanese Gamecube is that you can't save. Shame too because Donkey Konga 2 has alot more of unlockables.

Unless you have a modded Gamecube, then I believe its not a problem.

Donkey Konga 2 JP > Donkey Konga EU > Donkey Konga JP > Donkey Konga US

And I should know because I own them all.

Hit detection is unfortunately really poor on Taiko.. like Anihawk said, at E3 there wasnt a problem since the drums were in a good position, but I noticed it when playing a friends and have been frustrated by it since getting it the other day -- it's just so damn hard to hit the blue notes because you never know if it's gonna be the "right" spot.

That doesn't look so hot compared to Donkey Konga 2. :\

I only see 2 songs I really like and some that are midly interesting like the Rocky Theme song

That should be holiday. :P

GO!! and Reraito are prob my top picks in there.

Make that 3 songs.

I had to check which song GO!!! was actually.

So that would be Locolotion, Ne~ and GO!!! with Rocky Theme making me wondering how it will play out.

But with vol. 2 I went apeshit when I saw the playlist. 6 Jpop songs I loved.

Too bad the vocals are mangled to hell, specially the H!P songs.

As far as my gaming sessions go with both, gamers and non gamers, donkey konga has taken Super Smash Bros melee place as the most played game. That and Wario Ware are great specially with the non gaming crowd.
