Don't ever buy Special Kitty food from Walmart.

I had 5 cats get diabetes from 2006-2018. It seem most cat foods cause this. Cats aren't meant to eat foods with grain. If you get dry food, make sure its good food. Most likely expensive. et food is ok but it's like fast food. It has moisture and protein but that's it. They all got diabetes at different times. One died in 2007 from kidney failure, another in 2007 due to leaky heart, another in 2010 from lung issues, one in 2013 from mouth cancer and one in 2018 from diabetes and a stroke. I also think liquid topical flea medicine was part of the problem too. You put it between their shoulder blades but they can lick some of it. I gave it to them for years (at least the last 3)

What time is it?
Don't buy your pet food from grocery stores. You'll spend more in specialty stores but that should be offset somewhat because you should be feeding them less. Most cheap shit is cooked at such high temperature that he kills all the nutrients.

Sorry man, that's so shitty.

I had a pit bull that my parents were feeding dog food from walmart, he actually lost the ability to use his hind legs from the shitty food. My grandmother was so devastated that she just decided she was going to make ALL the dogs homemade foods, shed spend hours one day a week making chicken and rice and certain vegetables into a patte like substance. The pit bull actually gained back some mobility in his hind legs, which was encouraging, but he never was able to run around again, but he was happy with the little hind legs wheel chair thing my folks got him.

Food is super important, it was a hard lesson we learned. For my animals, I go to PetSmart and buy Blue Buffalo brand for both cats and dogs and we've not had any issues.

Sorry for your loss, it's never easy.

Lately I've been feeding my cat solid white albacore. He absolutely loves it but I wonder if it’s healthy for him...
Albacore has three times the mercury content that the regular tuna has.

I give a small can of tuna in water to share between my two cats alongside decent dry food, usually blue buffalo. Gonna try chub mackerel sometime and see how they take to it.
