I'd say, if it's anything like the PC game, which it obviously is - skip it. It was fun in the very beginning and got really boring quickly.

Agreed. Put about 7-8 hours in and am now bored out of my skull. If I have to read another PDA to get a code for another ammo crate or security clearance I'm going to throw something. Looks great, plays great, just really boring. I hope Half-life 2 for Xbox is better.

Yeah, I do that as well. It's still tedious and I'm glad I didn't buy it.

The logs weren't bad. Some of them were actually interesting even.

Of course, they were nowhere near as well done as those in System Shock 1 and 2 (which is what I believe inspired id to use logs in Doom 3).

As long as its been out, I've know nothing about it outside of maybe tiny thumbnail screenshots. I should check out the demo or something, I guess, as it sounds like it'd be right up my alley.

To those who didn't groove on the "un-Doom-like" darkness and claustrophobia of Doom 3: I agreed with you 100% before playing and being disappointed with Half-Life 2 and (especially) Far Cry. (Painkiller was good, but even more repetitious, in my opinion, than Doom 3.)

Now I've come to accept what id was trying to do with this game - it isn't a remake, it's a reimagining. And a gorgeous nightmare of a game to boot.

I just bought my Doom 3 CE at TRU for 50 clams, and I'm happy. This series just does it for me, I guess. Like a fine wine, I appreciate them more as they age.
