It's on Game Pass, I stupidly bought it on Switch (stupid because I have Game Pass), and now I have it on PC. This went from a hidden gem to "you probably have this even if you don't know it" in record time.

Just buy it on Steam in the sale. It's a fantastic game that not enough people have played. Feels very different to the first two games and has a great atmosphere. Despite my fondness for a Doom 3, Doom 64 is really what the 3rd game should have been. It's worth checking out.

Cool aesthetic, atmosphere and technical improvements on OG Doom, though the level design was about ten times more dickish than I remembered it being.

Whoever designed Hectic can go tongue a waffle iron.

Better for 0$ than 1$ :p

I expect to see loads of cheapskates that rarely buy PC games on Reddit proclaiming how awesome this is, and how Epic's their favorite store lol.

No excuse not to already own this if you really cared about Doom 64. It's been so cheap.

Most likely, its apparently also on sale on both GOG and Steam

On a side note, i just noticed DOOM I Enhanced and DOOM II Enhanced appeared on my GOG library. Seems to add mouse aim, a reticle, widescreen and higher res support. Nothing GZDoom didn't do for you already tho.

They updated Doom's packaging on Steam (not sure about GoG). For instance I received Final Doom for owning Doom 2, because they're now part of the same package.
They updated a couple Quake games as well.

I wonder why this game got released on EGS without achivements, while being released with achivements on Steam way back.

so what? I already have all these games. Not installing their stupid launcher

Point still stands... since I doubt you have all the games they've ever offered or will ever offering the future.

Fact of the matter is hardly any one weeks worth of giveaways is "epic account worthy", but anybody who has accumulated a fair number of games will say it is. Look at the bigger picture.

OHHH snap Ring of Pain is coming soon! I actually really enjoy that game. Will pick that one up when they make it free on there for sure

That is so totally believable. But hey, continue to turn your nose up to "free or discounted" games, if it fills you with such a sense of pride.
?
I think it's a good rule. To eat what you like. Not what you can get for free or because it is cheap

Game is awesome and worth buying even off sale. "Free shit" is great but I'd rather not deal with Epic in any fashion if possible.
I feel Gamepass, epic and all the free shit everywhere absolutely devalued gaming. Especially pc gaming.
Pc players now start to feel entitled to "not pay as much" for games anymore

Lol, dude, it's been that way LOOOOONNNGGG before EGS or Gamepass existed. And hell, it's mostly valid, in that games were cheaper on PC than consoles because we aren't using a physical media. Then count on OLD Steam having crazy good sales for half of it's existence and then kind of disappearing altogether... You don't need to go down the route of "Corporate Champion" it's never a good look.

it's not that. it feels different now. It's not just waiting for steam sales now

So you own it on Switch as opposed to renting it on GP? The game is worth owning for every console/PC you have it's that good.

And this is what happens when you don't pay for your stuff or get it for "free". I buy and own my stuff and it holds value to me. But hey, what do I know? I'm just an old man yelling at clouds...

Interesting. As in Nintendo 64 Doom? I still have that. Weird that a PC to console port is ported back to PC.
