This thread is talking about the actual game and mechanics?!? Why I never.
The recent changes are good.

That gold page is really helpful. I had no clue it was that complicated.

as someone who played over 100h of lol in march/april, this game confuses the fuck out of me. tower have huge ranges, items can be bought but not picked up (secret shop), flying ponies?

so different.

While the tower ranges are farther, they don't instant gib you if you get to close. A few stray hits is usually just an annoyance and not a death sentence like in LoL.

i haven't figured out when a tower attacks me. i just assumed it would be the same like in lol. also is there a colorblind mode / way of changing the color of creep health bars? they look literally the same to me.

Colorblind mode is planned, but it's not implemented yet.

There is a colorblind mode in options, but I don't think it works yet.

I'm not entirely sure about the full mechanics, but if you autoattack an enemy hero in range, they will begin targeting you. They will also prioritize you over creeps if you hit it first after the last creep it was attack dies (but I'm not 100% positive on that). Otherwise, it generally prioritizes creeps over heroes. Casting spells also doesn't earn its ire.

They attack you when you use an attack command on an enemy hero. However, spells don't draw tower aggro.

Towers also prioritize heroes attacking it if nearby creeps aren't attacking the tower as well. And they target you when you are the nearest thing attacking it when switching targets.

Biggest differences from LoL I noticed.

This thread reminds me of reddit.

Also HoNGAF confirmed for too much for Guesong.

Just had a fun match with me as Beast and a Veng were buffing up an Agha tiny who was tanky as hell. Lots of stuns and raw damage. Love those auras.

Beastmaster's boar is annoying though. He was constantly running extremely slow. I thought he was supposed to have a decent move speed. I'm used to dealing with slow centaurs from Chen, but this boar was always ages behind me. I don't understand it.

No. As I said, in either case I have my fun with you guys. :) After all, I was forged in the fire of HonGAF as well. I was simply in favor of a thread split cause I can see why some people might be put off by it all, and that I would find it favorable to have people form 2 communities if needed, rather than having one community where a part of people would simply leave and not participate.

btw gratz on joining Navi

Dues proving that Sniper can carry, all you need is people that die for you and keep everyone else busy while your carrys farm. A big distraction so no one can see the little dwarf farming away.

If a tower is attacking you and you have a friendly creep within tower range, hit "A" then click on a friendly creep. The tower will stop attacking you and attack something else.

I think that Invoker's spheres - sentient beings, who are thinking about life, existence and existentialism.

I also believe that Invoker wears miniature piano under his heam.

I tried Captain's Mode for the first time. It was pretty funny, they banned characters my party wouldn't pick in a million years (like Chen and Invoker). Shit talked commenced the entire game. I also tried Lich for the first time in a while. While I wasted his ult a few times, all I really had to do was cast frost armor on everyone and then instant victory.

I had no idea this existed. Awesome, thanks.

Valve should add a new mode:

1. Can't see enemy's pick
2. Can't see their items either
3. HP and MP bars are disabled
4. Timer disabled just as well
5. You can only chat in radius of 3000
6. You can see movement on the minimap as long as they're in your line of sight, or with help of wards
7. To TP you need to read scroll expressively in VoIP. The faster you read, the faster you'll TP. If you make a mistake there's a chance that you'll be TP to an enemy's fountain.

Push heroes like dragon knight are useless in pubs because pubs don't push.

:(

I really want to know what goes on in their heads when they roam around ganking or doing nothing while AM farms his heart out.

this should be the EG Gunnarbokrz steam group logo.

btw how did kunkka get buffed he seems the same to me?

The biggest buff is that his tidebringer range is 450 at all levels instead of growing progressively larger.

5 seconds to 8 seconds on boat buff.

Slight stun duration increase on boat.

X marks the spot mana and cd decreased I believe (cd by a lot).

Strength gain buffed a little.

Slight damage increase on torrent.

The random pub player is focused on becoming the essence of awesome that can fantastically kill the entire team alone. Unfortunately for the pubber, this almost never happens, and either the team or the game are blamed.

Serious question, what's the best way to stop junglers? It feels like there's nothing I can do in the beginning and eventually they show up five levels ahead of everyone else.

Ward and gank is one option.

Force pushes to make them come defend. If they won't, keep pushing and feeding off tower gold and team kills.

In pubs, the best counter is to get a jungler yourself and try to with the farm battle.

I enjoy invokers that duo lane with me and compete for last hits, and then don't have sheep stick by 30 minutes.

Its really random what happens with pubs. I might make it sound like all pubs are idiots, but every third game or so I get a team with people who are familiar with the game and are willing to communicate with each other, thats when the game is most fun, even if you lose.

So, they took replaced wins/losses on the hero graph page with games played and is the only way you can see now your wins/loss rating with a hero if that hero is in your top 3?

I understand why they would make that change (wins/losses can confound the interpretation of whatever they are using for their rating bar), but I hope not showing those stats is a bug or the screen where it's going to be displayed isn't implemented yet.

Have 2 people buy 2 wards each, rush to their jungle as fast as you can (like within 5 seconds of starting) and ward up the 4 easiest camps. Watch as the jungler is forced to go into lane.
Maybe keep one ward for a rune spot for your mid if hes gonna whine about it.

This is a pretty cheesy tactic, but honestly, its worked suprisingly well in pub games, especially against heroes that have a hard time jungling at lvl1, like Lycan.

If you're playing against Radiant you can block all of their spawns with 4 wards, and still have vision of the rune.

Which 2 camps can you block with 1 ward then?

The hard camp and the pull camp. There's a little bush or patch of grass at the upper left corner of the pull camp that marks a location where you can place a ward to block both camps.

I actually have the opposite opinion, pubs push too much. Specially the ones that think they can win every game by pushing. Pushing is like this game's concede function.

Happened to me once as Lycan...I then proceeded to demolish the other team even earlier :lol
