A skills are skillshots and there is friendly fire.

Also, first person perspective.

Today I played my first dota game ever. I had a buddy in skype explaining me what to do, but I was overwhelmed. I feel like this can be interesting though and I like the artstyle

Dendi Sand King just got more kills than the 4 M5 players(including Night Stalker) he is playing with. He had 18 kills in 35 minutes and got an assist for every other kill except one.

Fuck yeah Anti-Mage (and other team being crappy).

Bro you not only posted a Screenshot of you playing Anti-Mage, but one where you had the lowest CS / GPM / EXPM on your team, and the score being 47-10, come on

Fair enough.
Just a tip for AM, Battle Fury is really core, lets you push lanes and take towers solo applying pressure to the enemy team and increasing your farm so much, and the blink gives you an easy escape when they come to defend it.

Even if you make Vanguard, you should still get a Battle Fury after.

Use this thought process to decide:

1. Is my team winning? Does it look like the focus of the enemy team will be elsewhere? -> Skip Vanguard make Battlefury
2. Is the game equal? Am I farming good or is my farm ok? Is mid lane losing? -> Make Vanguard
3. Is my team losing? Is my lane the only lane doing well? Do they have heroes that can disable and gank me? -> If they don't have disable heroes, make Battlefury so you can farm fast enough to carry, if they have disables make vanguard.

I know your game was a complete stomp, so you may have been experimenting.

HOLY crap, what a game. Dendi's damage at the end was insane but he died. Was good times though with weaver and prophet teleporting to enemy base to take out the racks.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Not really a stomp, the game was pretty even the first 20 minutes or so, but they basically let me farm as much as I liked after that.

I fucking love all the flavor voice text lines in this game, particularly the ones between the characters that have some practical relationship. Like when Ursa kills Prophet, "I'll sharpen my claws on your bark, Prophet", or whenever Lina or CM kill each other, they have something to say. Such remarkable attention to detail in a type of game that has traditionally been purely about the gameplay really takes it up a level for me.

Tinker saying "the massless field flux should self-limit" (since he is voiced by the same guy as Dr. Kleiner from Half-Life) is just fucking awesome.

new map? awesome first I've heard of it, having come from LoL I hope they make something similar to their 3v3 map since I found that one to be my fav there.

I can't really get a grasp of size from that pic posted but I'll be keen to try out a new map whenever it comes out :)

Valve has hinted at this before, but I think this is the first time we've actually seen the map.

GameSpy said:
"We'll find ways to extend the [franchise]," Newell elaborated. "If you ask me, maps are probably one of the easier ways to create value. But, other people have thought otherwise. We've actually created multiple maps internally but, we'll see. I feel that one of the most valuable things are the heroes. Also, I think we should see what we can do with game modes. This hasn't been so successful in the past, as the community has a tendency to narrowly focus on certain things -- but the great thing is, once you start trying things, you can start seeing what's good and what's not."
