I would say AM is picked up a lot more than PL. I am not at home so unable to see the picks and ban from this International but I am pretty sure PL has pretty much dropped from the competitive scene. I would say Jugg is more common now, but he really isn't a late game carry.

I wasn't talking about just the West quals but the stats for those 3 for tht tourney are

jugg picked 9 banned 5
PL picked 4 banned 6
AM picked 4 banned 5

Weaver and jugg are definitely being seen alot more recently

Bear, Gyro, Naix are far away the top 3

As someone who watches lots of fighting gam tournaments as well, I was confused as hell of how this is run.

The games last longer than a minute or 2

2 best of fives with breaks would be potentially 10+ hours

going for 2 best of 3's if the winner bracket team stomps 2 in a row it might be less than an hour and a half including the intro

a 3 in a row stomp is still a possibility but at least you are guaranteeing a couple of hours without the potential for a marathon
 
Are there any beginners in this thread? Seems like everyone is wrecking shit in pubs.

I'm not new to this game, as in I know the terms and what/where everything is. But I have no experience. My knowledge is only through watching Purge's videos.

I want to take this game seriously. If you're a newbie, then I'd like to party up with you and play some games. My goal is 2 games every day. Win/lose doesn't matter.
 
corona's are stupidly overpriced mexican dirt water.
i like them, but i wont usually pay for them

aus servers seem to be working again.

I usually play a game or two a day. I got about 700 games played so I am not an absolute beginner, but far from a really good player. I like to help people, so you can add me and if you need some advice next to your games.

Yeah but considering one of the alternatives is XXXX Coronas are worth it. I like Coronas and Crownies personally.

Anyway has anyone ever had issues getting people to figure out that you don't build the exact same way every game? I'm probably going to demonstrate this with Nature's Prophet since he has about a billion different builds.

On certain heroes that's true, but there's some heroes you need the same items on. Like Shadow Blade Witch Doctor.

Coronas are good but really need lemon/lime, budweisers are pretty good all round beers.

And yeh that was a mistake I used to make a lot when I was newer to dota, always had a fixed item build
 
Haha Eternalenvy solo queue is pretty sad.
He mutes everyone, yells at everyone over mic, but still types messages with no feedback
 
Got bets on both underdogs today. VP has been week lately and Mouz just needs to play as good as yesterday. Maybe this will work out.
