I won't sing the program's praises or anything, but it has an extensive catalogue of podcasts, and autoupdates said podcasts so I don't have to sit on a website bookmark or RSS feed. If I had been exposed to some other media player that was doing that before iTunes, I'd be using that instead.

It did take me by surprise though one time when I played Spirit Breaker, and shortly after respawning, he said "Spirit Breaker is not amoosed!"

The past year we got an announcement clearly marking that the drought was on (along with Nyx, KoTL, and Visage). That has yet to happen.

Not sure, as I usually just listen to the most recent. There is a setting to resume playback under settings (Control P) -> History.

Unfortunately I think iTunes overall has the best podcast related features while other players are better in pretty much all other areas.
