I think I need a new hotkey setup for item slots. I wanted to use ASDZXC, but D is used for certain abilities so that sort of broke it for me. I have the first two item slots bound to my mouse buttons. Maybe I'll just bind the other four to ZXCV or something. Anyone have suggestions? I'm sick and tired of missing using my wand charges because I have to reach and hit N to use them.

Defense 4 announced fewer teams and only 2 months now: http://www.joindota.com/en/news/9371-the-defense-season-4-powered-by-eizo

So TPL, D2L, and The Defense have all made changes to their formats and made them shorter. I like how TPL went to these mini-cups and Bo1.

It waters down their product when there are too many matches and stretched out over many months. I would say 2 months is still too long but what can you do. There's only so much money these organizations can get from sponsors to make tournaments.

edit: Look at the dates, it looks like it really isn't spread over 2 months. There are just a large gap for the playoffs.

Someone recommend me a new mouse..i have the razer naga hex but the side buttons are not doing what i want these days. And i need to buy them here in the netherlands off course.

Couple questions here if anyone could be so kind.

1. Do you have to spend $9 in one purchase to possibly get a card drop? Anyone know what the drop rate is?

2. Are the match counters working again for the compendium courier?

you get 4 drops, but the cards are random

I. You only get 4 drops. So half of the total cards available in the specific game. They do this, to encourage you to trade with other people. So you can't complete your set simply by drops. Check your card section, and it will tell you how many drops you have left for the game (if it says zero, don't waste your time buying items in the hopes of getting a drop, it won't happen).

II. My match counter still isn't working for the Courier (International). But my QOP set for TPL is working. Well so far. It's gotten 3 views today.

In my last game there was a Nature's Prophet on my team that jungled until he was level 24 and would not help team fight until then. I'm pretty new to Dota and dont play junglers so I could be wrong about this but that doesn't seem like the way you're suppose to play. It was really frustrating and pretty much cost us the match.

That's kind of lame. I already have all my drops, none remaining. Not sure what I should be trading for the cards since the cards aren't worth anything.

I just played games I had but had no interest in completing the set of cards (Portal 2, CS:GO) and sold those cards to get the DOTA cards.

It kind of forces you to get cards from other games to trade with other members, or sell. I'm actually not 100% sure how drops work, because I have 5 out of 8 completed, and I never traded. I also have two bounty hunters, which means I have 6 cards total.

But to be fair, I wasn't paying attention to any of this as I was getting them. I just checked randomly and saw what I had.

So how does that work. You sell your cards, someone buys..then you can buy a card you need?

EDIT: I'm an idiot, I never even knew the Market existed. Wow.

I'm just now getting into LoL because all of my friends play it, but this game looks pretty awesome as well. What are the differences? If I practice in LoL, will it help me for Dota 2 as well?

It will in general knowledge for the genre as a whole even if the games are mechanically different.

Nope..Think of it this way, playing a ton of COD4 isn't going to help you much in Counterstrike.

Dota 2 is tougher, more strategic, heroes hit harder, more stuns, IMO and many other peoples dota's action is much easier to follow. Full hero roster available with no heroes behind a paywall like LoL. Free to play model in dota is supported by in game purchases of hero skins, huds, couriers, and other regalia. Flourishing competitive scene. Ability to watch competitions inside the game itself or watch replays of your own games.

One is made by Valve and the other is made by Riot.

This game is better.

If anything, Dota is more brutal, more rewarding, far more unique heroes/champs, a more interesting map, and far faster gameplay.

Not really.
Not this.

Yes this.

I had never played a MOBA, but jumped into LoL for a little while. Learning the fundamentals (laning, not feeding, buying items, not tower diving, last hitting (unsuccessfully lol)) certainly helped the transition. I'm still not great, but I conceptually understand how to 'not suck'--it doesn't stop me from sucking, but at least I can pick up what I'm doing wrong and learn from mistakes.

Essentially you're learning a new genre, so picking up the nomenclature and basic strategy will be beneficial.

Learning Visual Basic isn't going to teach you C#, but if you had no previous programming experience before, it's definitely going to give you a head-start on the fundamentals. Just be careful not to learn bad habits.

As much as I want to watch EG vs. Mouz, I just cannot stand their casters.

Some. Its like practicing one FPS and playing anther. Some skills will carry over, but a lot of stuff will be different.

Half the reason I buy the tickets is just so I can turn the commentators off.
So you are giving them money as a troll?
I need a new mousepad. Someone recommend me a sexy mousepad that isn't my $5 walmart pad.
I would try different surfaces. I saw in my store there was organic cotton mousepads and at that point I was like fuckit I'm not paying $20 to have a t-shirt as a mousepad when I can just use a t-shirt ffs.
