Dotabuff.com has a lot of good stats like that. Although really, the only sign of you improving is your winrate IMO, stuff like GPM and such will vary wildly between games depending on what role you're playing

It could be broken down into roles...the problem with win rate is that it doesn't tell you where you need improvement.

I'd love to see gold from last hit strikes. IE no spells/abilities/autoattacks
GPM is fucked up because of tower and building kills.

Winrate is rubberbanded. How about intagibles like Fun?

Mini and SeleCT out of QPAD

gggg, that apm wasn't high enough.

QPAD add Eternalenvy!
edit lol QPAD.Weppas + QPAD.2GD incoming

They really should put a tutorial about not starting a team fight when you are alone and the other team is on the offensive. I see it again and again. We had this viper on our team that kept going mid alone and try to take out the other team while they were all pushing. This lead another teammate to have a meltdown on the mic.

We still won in the end though. The other team had a broodmother that stayed 35 min in the top lane and failed to take a single tower, an enigma that didn't micro properly and a Phantom Assassin that tried to do the same thing as viper so it balanced things out.

I was playing kotl and it was pretty fun. I think he's one of my favorite hero when your team isn't a bunch of jerks.

I still don't get how Dota 2 records your win/lose rate.

Win with other the team have abandon? Win.
Win with our team have abandon? Win...opss, doesn't count!
Lose/abandon after any team have abandon? F U...you lost son!!

I wish this game had a more in depth stack tracker.. like Lifetime average gold/min.. most kills in a game... biggest streak etc. I like seeing stuff like that, and also stats you can track to see if you improving.

Valve has made it apparent that they are against big time stat tracking because they believe it will worsen the community. Don't expect features like that in game soon, or ever. As others have said, dotabuff has some of this stuff if you enable third party match access. Lifetime gpm is also a very poor stat to track, as your role greats affects the gpm.

man, the International HUD really sucks. Try toggling between it and the default, it takes up so much space (with the dota2 hud already being too big imo) and is just way too bright.

also, what level do I have to get to have decent matchmake games? still tons of leavers and clueless people on level 3 but idk how dota2s matchmaking works so maybe its just based on wins? ingame it says I'm 7-13 but I think that counts bot games and doesnt count abandoned games because dotabuff says I'm 11-14

I am level 5 with 38-49 (win/loss), early leavers are almost non-existent, but I am still clueless.

What did you put for your skill level when dota 2 first prompted you about your past experience? If you put absolute beginner, you re going to have to win your way out of the trenches. Every player has a hidden ELO that increases when you win, and decreases when you lose. I think it may be a bit different when you are lower level, but the reality is, the best bet is to win.

So I am level 20 by now. Still only played like 70 matches with humans. I have been so scared of letting down my team. I have no problem playing Meepo and Puck on hard with bots and do quiet well.
But today I thought: NO SON! about time you hit dem humans.

So first game today I do single draft. Options are Necrolyte - Cancer and ehhhh dont remember.
Either way I pick necro because...who picks cancer right?

We lost and I feel I did horrible. Our line up sucked hard aswell but still I felt like shit.

So tonight after grabbing a beer and trying to muster som courage I thought try again.

Then I get All Pick.
Our team goes pretty much all carry. So I thought go support.
I pick Lion to have some disable and a nuke.

It went alot better and we won. I bought wards and stuff and tried to do my best not to kill steal the other 4.
I really enjoyed finally feeling like a important part of a match vs humans. Hey they even had a PL.

Playing human matches finally feels save now :D

hats > stats

it's not like an online only pvp centric game needs any sort of ladder or stat tracking, right? right???

Watching the games I missed yesterday from G1 and man... Aui_2000 is really annoying.

You are like the 5th person to post this. What gives?

He does exactly what he's supposed to do on the cast; he explains the plays from a pro perspective and he gives advice on how to be more efficient. And unlike Eternalenvy he doesn't argue with his co-caster.

Axe is really fun, can't believe it took me this long to try him out. Also does being idle for several minutes counts as abandonment? I was playing anti mage and a hot dog arrived so i just left him there while eating (awful i know specially since the hot dog wasn't that good) and the next thing i know i get an abandoment on my record. That's what i get for being hungry.

I think if you don't gain experience OR produce any input for 4 minutes it registers as abandon.

Explaining from a pro perspective is annoying when your comments stink of an underlying "I could build/play this better, why are you playing wrong". Especially considering his team isn't even there and the players he is critiquing have proven to be better than him.

I really like Aui, don't know why people are hatin' on him

You sometimes need to concentrate to actually understand what he is saying. That's not really optimal for a caster.

That said, I like him as well and most of the criticism (even in this thread) is obviously over board and pretty immature. I suppose that's just what you get with a community like this.

that's fucked up, well that's what i deserved anyway. The weird thing is that no message came up at any time or later, i realized it later when checking my profile.

Some blinkin' and slammin' real tawk! I enjoy AUI as a caster and streamer.

I have no problem understanding him.

This is my problem with him.

It's not "this is an interesting build, sometimes other people will build this hero this way and here's why." when aui does it it's "i really don't like this build he's doing, it's bad, he should do what i do." Aui I don't care what your phantom lancer build is. You're not winning g1 and all of these people have been more successful than you.

REAL TALK STRIKES BACK!

He is arguably the best player of an invited TI3 team, though. It's not like he has no idea what he is talking about.

To be perfectly honest, I only saw two or three matches with him as a co-caster and could very well be wrong here. However, I feel like his critique was pretty much focused on mechanical mistakes, which are not really subjective in nature. It's not like you could argue with switching treads and/or dropping items while regenerating being more effective than simply not doing it at all. Sure, there are more important tasks and decisions to be focused on during a high profile match and missing out on some HP or mana is probably not going to cost you the match, but he still has a valid point here. From a purely mechanical viewpoint, these players could have done better. He does not have to be the better player to be right about this.

*edit*
I have no problem understanding him.

He just can't stop mumbling. Might be just me, though.

I don't understand how someone can reach this build. A SPIDER with no webs. Even if you know nothing about Dota, surely you would have webs for a SPIDER.

I'm betting on someone who has not read or didn't understand the skill descirption because he doesn't know English very well.

I think this comes from Aui having played a lot of SC2. In SC2, mechanics are by far the most important aspect. Especially those small things are valued really highly. You'll see Day9 or Artosis often complain about small inefficiencies that delay a player's build order by seconds or less but they do matter in pro games because they sum up over time.

At which battle rank do people start using wards?

Battle rank just tells you how many games you have played. You can be battle rank 100 from playing only bot games and never even seeing a ward.

I'd say wards become common in the "high" skill bracket. Search for replays with you name and then filter by skill bracket to see where you are, there are only 3 brackets.
