Reminds me of my games last night. First game, one of our guys does that Ghost Scepter Huskar build, and his friend farms as AM all game and doesn't die once, we crush. Next game, we go against the pair, as Huskar and Kunkka. Knew what was coming, but couldn't get our mass blade mail's up fast enough, thanks to the magic of a Warlock Golumn being good at ensuring the enemy lich ult could bounce freely.

It's pretty frustrating when you know the gimmick you're up against but can't counter it for one reason or another.
 
How is it possible that Europe west servers with language option English are full of Russians? I don't want to play with them.

Don't forget that one of the enemy team will wait until the very last second to pick and then grab someone like Phantom Lancer or Huskar

I suspect that'll reinforce the fact that I'm really quite mediocre skillwise. I mostly play all-pick because (a) playing single draft with random people results in horrible things, and (b) the matchmaking pool is larger, so I figure I'll get people closer to my skill level. I random pretty much every game, though I often find myself re-picking after my teammates proceed to pick 4 carries.

and I'm totally with you that stomps are going to happen a lot because of the way games snowball. My original question about in-house leagues was based on a desire to find a place to play with and against people of similar (as in mediocre) skill level but good personalities.

IH's aren't a good place for you to play against/wish people of similar skill (quite the opposite). But if you're on a poor end of the spectrum like me, then it serves as a good place to train better map awareness and generally faster play. Think of it like the overtraining principle

Not many. Problem is when he doesn't get a good start and just becomes completely useless dead weight that dies in 2 seconds every fight. He's a boom or bust hero, and I don't think it would work against stronger teams than Kaipi, whose only trick is to have EternalEnvy farm for 45 minutes every game.

Yeah, I can see that shrinking the matchmaking pool is going to hurt parity of skill. and people who are going to go looking for inhouse are likely to be the non-casuals, so it's going to skew toward the higher end of the skill spectrum and toward very different types of games due to better skill, better awareness, and better cooperation. I feel like I do have a lot of fun playing with high-skilled gaffers even when I'm clearly the least skilled person on the team, so that may be a fair trade to make.
 
So apparently KP is abusing servers depending on who they're facing. If they play against Liquid the ask for Luxembourg, today the asked for US east.
 
How good is huskar for a noob like me?

The other day I did a good job protecting one since it seems that he has troubles at the beginning
