I love playing support, but the stuff you have to put with sometimes when supporting is ridiculous. Some people don't seem to realize that you don't get infinite starting gold when playing support. They also seem to assume that by playing support you can be everywhere at once. Defending top tower alone? No, you should be warding our jungle in bot where our Doom is jungling and can't be bothered to look at the mini map. And sandking dying 17 times must be part of some masterplan I wasn't aware of.

Some games are just so demotivating :/

Tell me about it. This is why I hate solo queuing, because no matter what the first 2 picks are, expect more carries until you are the last one standing and have to pick up the solo support role. The amount you have to nerf yourself as far as items go when you are the only support on the team is ridiculous. But it's either that or no wards, no courier and no dust unless someone rage buys some after dying to a Nyx.

Also what is with all the Russians lately, so frustrating when you pick language as English and not a single person on your team speaks it

Just lost a sure win because 3 of my teammates were Russians, first they went 5 man top after I called it, then pugna decrypts CK while he TP's away while I could have right clicked him to death in that time, and our prophet... god damn... mana boots, necrobook, power treads were his items, lowest level of the team almost the entire game..

We ran Necrolyte in a TMM game today. The amount of staying power that hero has is absuuuuurd as long as he gets last hits on heroes. He regens so many hit points and mana and can keep the pain flowing. Fantastic hero, would play again.

When i really want to win in matchmaking i just pick Necro and go mid, it's crazy.

travel+radi = gg

Nope, fuck that shit. I get phase boots, mek and then one between Sheep, Shiva's and Heart. Sometimes if i'm really super ahead i buy dagon just to finish the game as early as possible. Also i know most people prefer heartstopper aura for laning purposes, but i just get pulses+sadist so i can avoid buying a bottle and i'm able to flashfarm.

People are such animals

Treasure key - 2.50
Wax key - 2.50

Cost of 1 wax key on D2Lounge = 2 Treasure key

How is that even logical

... Do you not know how demand and supply works?

There are a lot less Wax keys in circulation because it was just introduced, and demand for Wax keys is very high now because the new Wax Chest can now be opened. Of course it's going to be worth more.

I'm absolutely loving the Charles Barkley Huskar build. As soon as you finish that scepter and start ulting people every 4 seconds in a team fight with 5 seconds of near invulernability its amazing. It takes a lot of adjustment though. I messed it up the first three games I tried, it really takes an adjustment in playstyle and focus.

Anyone know any really unconventional builds with other characters I could try out?

Try Mek + Aghanim's on Viper. The Mek gives you and your team staying power in early game fights and with Agh's you can spam your ultimate in fights (7 sec cooldown or something). Aui_2000 gets the credit for that build.

Holy shit at Crystal Maiden's new mana regen. With aura at lvl 1 I could basically freely spam my AoE and root. Too bad she's still slow and my positioning is dogshit, always too aggressive.

She's the new treant. The aura keeps getting buffed, and her real problem isn't payed attention (shitty MS and HP)

Would you rush the mek and scepter right after getting power treads, forgoing anything else?

You can go either Phase or Power Treads, both work. And you want your Mekasm as quickly as possible since the fixed amount of healing is stronger the earlier the game is. Ideally you have about a 12-15 min PTs, Mek and maybe Bottle if you're mid and the Agh's around 10 mins after that (4200 gold, if you're doing well, you're gonna have 400 GPM at least), so around 25 minutes you'll have both items. If you have a hero that will always go Mek (Dark Seer, Chen or something) you can skip it and get a Vitality Booster (don't get Vanguard, it's bad on ranged heroes) before the Agh's. It's a fun build.

CM's right click is so awful, a creep's health has to be a sliver in order for her to deny it. I'm pretty sure most heroes can successfully last hit before CM can even think of trying to deny.

guys i finally played some dota after 3 weeks and opened one of those new chests.

mythical sk thing. dope

CM would be the best support ever in mm games if they buffed her ms, now she's just extremely good.
With the aura buff you see occasional pro play, but she was still really really good in mm games before that as well.

man it really puts into perspective how popular League is when the twitch stream for their tournament has 10x as many people watching as the dota 2 dreamhack stream

play lots of treant protector, problem solved

Treant is a better choice but I did first start really getting map awareness when I started playing Zeus a bunch
Treant is kind of a special case because he's so tanky and his last hitting is so amazing, I can afford to divert 60% of my to attention checking other lanes.

With other global heroes like Wisp, Nature's Prophet, Zeus, Invoker, Spirit Breaker it's much riskier to draw your attention away from your lane. And since I can't use Mumble, I cannot really play those heroes to their full potential.

In some sense, Treant is good for practicing map awareness because it's safer for him, but he's kind of a crutch.

Honestly, the biggest advice I can give to players trying to improve their map awareness is to look at their minimap 30% of the time. If you're not last hitting, harassing, or aggressing, train your eyes on the minimap.

I think mirana's attack animation and base damage is the worst. It is so weird for me, the arrow comes out fast enough but travels so slow. Puck use to be even worse before they buffed her base damage.

My favorite is either Troll Warlord's melee or ranged, or sylla's ranged. Once you get used to it is so perfect.

Puck's attack animation is pretty shit. Projectile speed is alright, but animation is sooooo slow.

Invoker base damage is also pretty sad, but his animation isn't too bad.

Lina is another one with a crap animation that's really hard to adjust to if you don't play her much. Made up for by the range though I suppose. And her passive kind of fixes it, but will probably only matter if you're going carry/semi-carry Slayer.

Also - take a drink every time AC says "day late and a dollar short".
