Since we're on the topic of Invoker, how do you guys land more consistent ice walls? It's easy to use it as a defensive spell but I've seen people use it to catch heroes running away. I've tried thinking about positional cues but just can't wrap my head around properly positioning Invoker sideways. I can't seem to account for turning speed.

How about without nado or euls? I've seen some guys do it (mainly QE players)

Nature's Prophet and Naga. VP really want to win this.
I really hope that the hour long Naga siren split push doesnt become the pro meta because its so damn boring to watch
I think it makes them look worse because they are playing against better people than they would solo. I'm not level 13 yet and only have 100 games played but I can tell I'm probably below 3k MMR just from how awful the people I'm against are. Two games at the weekend I had boots first PAs on my team who didn't know how to last hit and had me worried but when the other team doesn't either, who cares! In one of them the PA went mid with no regen, then didn't level dagger until level 10 or something, and still ended up being good enough to win.Pyrion and Sheever spend a lot of time stacking with people like Bulldog and Shane, I guess that might confuse the system a bit? Although actually I don't know if consistently playing with higher skilled people makes it easier or harder for yourself to progress MMR wise.
I'll take that over 15 min death balls any day of the week.
He hasn't played Invoker (or anything else) in over a year in pubs.

I was just watching a twitch vod where he played q/w invoker last night. I think it was from 5 or 6 days ago.
Any tips for playing Phoenix?
I've been going tranquil boots, urn, men and then either Shiva or heart.
What I'm struggling with is the laning phase. I don't know if it's the fact that everyone knows phoenix is squishy but opponents dive me constantly. It's only once I reach level 6 that I feel secure.
I level up Spirits first then Sun Ray...leaving Icarus lvl 1 till the other 2 are maxed.
The other thing is I tend to have lag/bad ping which doesn't help as it does seem like a hero who is best played with low ping.
Dat Tasha... omg... thanks!
On topic now... starting to play Templar Assassin more. Really fun hero but sometimes my Meld traps fail because her range is so short with Psi Blades at level one. I know its not recommended but I'm even leveling Psi Blades to at least level one so I can get the hang of it... otherwise I'm in stealth there, click the enemy hero and she walks right towards him instead of attacking. The rage... -_-
Make good use of your traps. Consider a yasha or phase boots for a speed boost to help you with closing gaps.
Phoenix is my new favourite offlane support simply because of the amazing harass with damage over time, attack and move speed slows. If their safelane doesn't have any ranged you can just wreck their hard carry's early game farm with Fire Spirit harass. You've got to be so careful of slows and stuns, if someone is fast enough and on point they will pick you out of a Icarus Dive and you'll just feed while trying to force something to happen. Icarus Dive is something I like to sit on and only use when necessary to secure a kill or to escape because of the cooldown.
I do max Spirits first because of the cool down reduction, attack speed reduction and damage over time increase but the second max skill depends on the game and opponent line-up. If there is a Legion Commander on the other team I will max Sun Ray second for sure. You can help keep a teammate alive a little longer while damaging LC at the same time, provided you're in a good position to just sit there and Sun Ray after throwing some AS and MS slow on LC. Icarus Dive is an amazing skill but you only get more DoT with it, so maxing that second kinda depends on what situations and heroes you're facing. Sometimes it's worthwhile to put a few more points in it early on, depends.
I go Tranquils, Headdress (over Buckler to start because I find I really need the HP regen) into Mek and then go for a Shiva's or Rod of Atos into Heart. Shiva's is a pretty big item to go for but I find it has good synergy with Phoenix's skill set. You get a nuke to go along with your DoT, however I am unsure if the ms slows stack tho. If the game is going well, it's the first big ticket item I go for cos it addresses two of the heroes issues with armor and mana regen and contributes to your teamfight presence. Sometimes I'll just buy and sit on the platemail for a while. I never buy those components at the expense of supporting tho.
I never had fun losing when I played basketball or ran track in high school.
You people really need to learnt to stop caring about whether you win or lose.
bb, dazzle, and pugna with essence aura, disgusting

I figured since no one else seemed to post it here is the steam dev days talk about in game economies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHC-uGDbu7s
It's super interesting. All about how non payer customers are still generating value and talking about the thought process behind crates, battle boosters, and the compendium.
Highly recommended watching. About 50 minutes long.
