surprised anyone still willing to join secret, i'm quite sure escape as of now is still stronger than secret

Was there many complaints by people, on forums and stuff, thinking the game was going no where? "At this rate this game will die if it didn't take a different approach" etc etc, something like that?



Just curious, and making some comparisons on a word doc lol

Actually no, I don't recall Dota 2 ever having that kind of talk around it.

Also Col just crumbled there. They were solidly in the lead, and just tossed it away.

Not that I remember, but keep in mind the history extends well beyond Dota 2, but I couldn't tell you much about the before time.

In early beta in 2011 there were complaints of input lag, which there was and they promptly fixed. There was nothing like "The game will die if X doesn't change" though.

You should be happy that Forev saw through Secret's lies, and left on his accord. Like Universe they've both been with legit esports organizations; between EE's blog and Forev's own pro experience, there's probably enough red flags to make him abandon ship.

The list goes as follows:

1. Treat any change to the game that makes it harder to play a 1v9 style as "ruining the game", bonus points if you blame reddit and type like your keyboard is broken because ixmike made that shit cool
2. Kick your carry mid-series because you all flame more than you actually play
3. Go literally years without picking a support in pubs and then wonder why your entire scene besides EG is just a pile of shitty tier-3 mid players

seriously I want you to name a good position-5 NA player besides PPD (who isn't even a fucking player right now)

Don't think NA's issue is lack of role diversity. It's lack of proper infrastructure to facilitate good teams. Pub stars don't just instantly become amazing pro players. Gotta take semi-pros and amateurs to that next level where they start approaching pro dota as something more than just a high tier pub match. Not even unique to dota.

Why is regionalism so important to everyone/anyone? We live in a globalized society and follow an electronic sports that is or potentially can be entirely detached from borders because being in the same country or continent is not necessary (although sometimes beneficial with respect to time zones and ping) to play together. "NA Dota" should not mean anything.
