Losers and Winners matches in NA should be pretty damn good.

Expect Onyx to wipe TF and NP to roll Col, but I could see it going pretty much ANY way.

KIEV MAJOR REGIONALS Day 4 of 4

- Teams will play Bo1 round-robin matches in a single group
- Tiebreakers: head-to-head record first > Bo1 round robin > time rating for round robin
- The top 4 teams from the group stage advance to the Bo3 playoff stage, which is a double elimination bracket

Day 1 - Fri March 10: half Bo1 roundrobin
Day 2 - Sat March 11: other half Bo1 roundrobin
Day 3 - Sun March 12: Top 4 teams Bo3 playoffs (Faceless qualified)
Day 4 - Mon March 13: Top 3 teams Bo3 playoffs

Day 4
- two LB single elimination Bo3
- SEA one LB single elimination Bo3
- CN two UB double elimination Bo3
- plus a final Bo3 for the final qualifier spot

It's going to come down to coL vs. NP in the finals anyway. Which is a shame because I think both teams deserve to go. But we just had to have a SA qualifier so some dumpster tier 3 team can get swept through groups and lose in 20 minutes on the main stage. If anything they should have added just the CIS qualifier and then done SA/CIS for The International.

Edit: just realized SEA and China get 2 invites. Should have done 2 NA and no SA qualifier imo.

China I'm fine with, but if any region "deserved" two invites it's CIS since ya know, the major is in CIS. Did SEA get 2 because it had fewer direct invites?

I'm okay with China as well, I just find it weird that they got 3 direct invites and get 2 qualifier spots when in Boston they all got trashcanned. I do know that they are starting to shift away from over-inviting Chinese teams (they used to get like half the spots for TI and the first few majors) but the region is still consistently strong compared to somewhere like SEA which has literally 2 competitive teams and then a cliff (neither deserving of a direct invite imo). I agree CIS teams should get representation, but the entire region is constantly swapping players and none of the teams outside of VP have looked that good. I think they should have given VP a direct invite over VG.J, and then had 1 less Chinese team in favor of 2 guaranteed spots for CIS teams. Then again, I also think NP and coL both deserve to be there so who knows.

zfreek is probably top 5 in the world at this point. He plays literally any hero they throw at him and is consistently making plays to ensure coL is competitive. Aui was a strong pos 4 , PPD was a hit or miss pos 5, and I think on goods days the support duo from NP are really solid. It's definitely the position that is lacking in the region.

That's what happens when you focus too hard on shutting down a Core Venge and let an Alch farm like a boss. Yea EE was interrupting him occasionally but they had no committed efforts as a team to shut him down--he didn't get his first death until the 27 minute mark at which point he had Armlet/Radiance/Manta/Octarine. Monkey's also stepped it up hard that game 3 from what I saw. His Abaddon play was pretty on point.

I'm also not a fan of some of NP's Talent/Item Choices. Not getting Magic Resist on Enigma (in favor of 20 ms) when they have a team full of Nukes? Double Midas with a Weaver and TB pick? It forced them to spread out too much and Rose kept feeding kills for nothing--there was an 8 minute window when Alch was coming online that coL was 4-0 during. If you look at the mid game (15m to 25m) coL won engagements to the tune of 7-1. That's not good.

Also, the first time coL has beaten NP in a series. Jesus christ, NP was 14-3 against coL going into that series...
