Doug Bowser retiring and being replaced by Devon Pritchard in 2026 as president of NOA

Reggie was damn terrible. Wasn't he the one in charge during the Wii years when it took a massive effort to get Xenoblade released in the States? Operation Rainfall or something because Reggie proclaimed it wouldn't sell in America.

Reggie waa occasionally humorous in press events/Directs but that didn't make him great at the job overall.
In fact... I hated Reggie.

I love the idea of Nintendo having a Japanese overseer in America. They need to stop NOA before they go too far. If NOA gets as far as Sony has, it's gonna be hard to recover. There's already a lot ot dumb shit that needs to be corrected.

That being said, if they really need the stage presence, they can pay Reggie $1 million to come back and hang dong on stage as a he presents new games.
Treehouse translations kind of sucked for some games. Hopefully future ones are better.

for me personally , the old nintendo died when Mr Iwata has gone to heaven and Reggie retired
New nintendo has no heirs from Yamauchi Family , and i will retired from Nintendo games once Mr Miyamoto , Mr Kondo , Mr Tezuka , Mr Anonuma retires as well

i won't buy Switch 2 for now , maybe when there's a 2nd or 3rd hardware revision

With Satoru Shibata becoming CEO, she won't be making too many business decisions either.

Since when would NoA make any creative decisions regardless of who or how many C suite there are? Unless we are talking about promotions and banners.

NOA has always been a distribution/marketing subordinate of NOJ and Shibata is just there to keep a closer watch for reporting back to HQ without the large ocean and language barrier pissing off Japan.

He's the Don't Mattrick of Nintendo. Good riddens.

Unfortunately what needs to happen is the leadership in Nintendo Japan to go as well. Why are people who don't even play games running a gaming company? No wonder they've lost their touch.

What's the difference between these roles in reality?

president is more day to day operations, while CEO is strategy.

Quite often the same person holds both roles. This is probably a signal from Nintendo HQ that they don't have full confidence in Mrs. Pritchard, or want to keep a closer eye on NOA.

I just want to know if either of these people are actual gamers. The top quality of Satoru Iwata was that he wasn't just a great businessman, he was a great designer and developer, and he genuinely loved games. You could feel his influence throughout the entirety of the company. And whether you like the DS/Wii era or not, he at least put the experience of the gamer in the front of their overall strategy.

Reggie was also great for consumers, at least compared to the current leadership at Nintendo. He demanded Wii Sports be a pack-in game, and I guaranty he would be pushing back on the price gouging happening in the current era of Nintendo.
